Ok. I hate a lot of elements. Some because I just don’t like them, others since they’re bad. But how practical are all of them?
The scale I’ll be rating with considers the following:
The element defensively (weaknesses and resistances) and offensively (strengths)
How strong the attacks are in terms of base power.
Habitat cost, space and gold production.
How the element influences dragon design and elemental combinations (elements commonly found together, elements that are often linked to a dragon’s appearance)
How common the element is.
The element’s arena.
Here’s the list from worst to best (when the elements are the primary element of the dragon):
Metal. Metal is strong against terra and ice. Terra is very common as a first element, ice less so. It’s weak to electric and dark, which are very common. It has few trained attacks stronger than 1350 and its arena is AWFUL.
Light is great for attacking. But you can’t always get the first hit. Light dragons are weak to nature and dark, again, very common, and only has one resistance, electric. Although great for offense, one hit and you’re dead. Very common, and the arena is too easy. Took only a week.
Primal has potential and is the definition of trying too hard. I honestly hate this element. But hey, if it can kill the pures, it has potential for greatness. I hate the dinosaur aesthetic. The habitats are ugly. But it hits HARD... if your dragon is still alive to land the hit. Unfortunately, primals are either super weak and ugly or good but impossible to get.
Dark is identical to light, except it’s much better defensively and strong against the two joke elements. Habitats are unreasonably expensive, at least for me. Arena is just like metal’s, except you can use decent dragons.
Nature is, again, crap for defending. If you’re the reason I one-shot Yggdrasil and high portals with Apocalypse, you’re bad. Great influence on dragon design, basic arena. Pretty habitat.
Electric and ice are tied, because they’re almost the same. Forgettable, but decent, with pretty habitats but terrible defense and passable arenas.
Sea is pretty rare. Since most flame dragons have defense against war, sea is a great counter. Pretty habitats, but they have MAJOR weaknesses and honestly weak attacks, none peaking over 1800 power.
Terra is very sturdy and hard to counter in the early game. But the habitats are good for nothing but housing dragons you don’t particularly care about, and it’s a joke in the late game. Very common, but still hard hitters. Basic, but surprisingly hard arena.
Ancient world elements are neutral and only exist because some dragons needed no weakness to be useable (cough ultimate) and ancient world was cool for like a month. Remove coverage, but perfect for defense. And hey, sweet habitats.
War has common secondary weaknesses, but is a powerhouse against terra and flame, two huge threats. Surprisingly low power for moves, unsurprisingly infuriating arena. Most war dragons are incredibly strong, though.
Flame is great for defense and offense. Although little use against sea, flame dragons are tough-looking and made for battle. The moves are quite varied in power, and again, basic arena. Habitats are decent heroic race money item farms.
Pure is hard-hitting, almost invincible, is strong, has good coverage and a beautiful habitat. Legend dragons are why I’m making 8 mil a day, and no legend is weaker than category 4, I think. Both good all around elements, but use sparingly, otherwise they ruin the game and nobody has fun and I really hate that these are the best elements.
Hope you have an easier time building your team!
