For some reason sp just wants us to spend more money on this game. Why do you say that? Because they are increasing the rune level to 12. Level 10 runes are hard to get for most f2p players (some can’t even get to the 30th room in treasure cave), so why do you have to increase the rune level to 12?

This is also my biggest concern. You go and fork out 345 gems to buy a X team stamina and you can't safely convert it into something useful
let alone do changes to your existing setup that you worked hard on for many years!!!

I am not sure why anyone is surprised, or should be in any way angered. SP always adds new content to the game: the Lab, Relics, Warmasters, Nemeses, VIPs, lvl X runes. In the end all these changes improved game play. The game would have become utterly boring if we were still playing with rank 0 Thetys and Volt without relics.
Having said that, I am not sure what the point is of these new changes. The vast majority of players is still 'working' on their runes, so I cannot imagine these changes are in any way interesting to them. Even some elite players still have to continuously add new high runes to their inventory to be able to keep everything runed properly, especially if they want to play TBGR well. There is not much room for them to create mutant runes either.
The only change this will probably make is a select few mega whales from the highest ranked teams getting these runes, which will make it even harder to fight them, which will cause even more 'elite' players to take the cowards path in hiding from them or creating a new team.

Yes, agreed. But, logically, I + I + I + X cannot go to XI, right? XI just means a level X rune with a secondary effect, by combining two runes (temporarily until you want to dismantle it back into its components). And XII just means a level X rune with a slightly stronger secondary effect.
So, if I + I + I + X cannot go to XI, why would it have a chance of going down to IX? There is no rune craft gambling going on.
As you say, we shall see. Personally I think SP should not have called these XI and XII runes. Just X Hybrid and X Hybrid+, or something. Calling them XI and XII runes was always going to create hysteria. Not just foreseeably, but certainly.

there are some concerns mine are:
- how do the recipe's look like and how will you get them
- the combination with life gives an enormous buff (lvl 3/4 runes 81%/117%) can be countered by some monsters but is still a bit messy (math is done by people more smarther than me thanks @sonnorcteer @Dorijan-Lendvaj @amort3k )
- unequipping will cost lots of gems to mutate existing runes - solution would be mutating will work like feeding relics on monster or more preferable by most unequipping for gold/free

As far as I can gather from Fox's explanation, the primary rune, remains the same, i.e, a lvl XI or XII speed rune will be the same as a lvl X speed rune, but the secondary mutation, say if it's a life mutation, will only add a lvl 3 to a maximum of a lvl 4 of that of a life rune. I also, saw an example of a lvl 5 mutant rune...what will SP call them, lvl 5b runes..? Just don't see the need to number the lvl X mutation, if that's the case. I don't see any greed or gem grabbing involved...but I do see it as more of a specialist concept. Personally, relics already fill that space, for me...
