I think this is going to be an absolute disaster. For one, I don't like the idea of anyone seeing what I have. I am already seeing players asking for Ultimate orbs in different groups, before it even begins, as if anyone is that stupid to give those away. It's going to be a social manipulation nightmare.

I disagree, for two reasons. One, I am familiar with how it is done in Monster Legends and it will be a long, slow process. Two, no one can see what you have, only what you put up to trade. If you do not agree I would love to see proof of that.

With the recent update, they added Orb Trading between Alliance Members!
-Request some Orbs, put what you're donating, pay the Trade Essense toll, and ta-da! Trade!
-You can carry only a certain amount of Trade Essences at any time (8 C, 4 R, 12 VR, 15 E, 15 L, and 15 H). Purchased and Refunded Essences can exceed the limit.
-You have to have at least 1 Orb of a Dragon to request it.
-Same Orb Rarities for trading (Heroic for Heroic, etc).
-Expired Trade Offers can be reclaimed for the Essences and Orbs.

Oh I see. I didn't realize that. I thought players could see your entire inventory. It's good if they can't. That certainly makes it more palatable.

@bill-andrew-hyman personally I do not care for trading and needing another element just to trade what you have. At least in ML it is donating, which means you have a limit if each rarity that you can donate, you do not have to trade for it or need anything else to give them away. I am sure these trading essences are going to be hard to get so limiting this feature even more.

How do we obtain more Trade Essence? My apologies if it was already posted. I couldn't find it.

I don’t have it yet but I think I could ask for Conquest and that would push it into the range for Joker Orbs.

Thank you, @Bill-Andrew-Hyman , for starting this topic. Hopefully, once it's fully released, you will see the benefits of this new feature.

Also, it will be really useful/important to be part of an active Alliance.

Most likely today, the latest version of the game (v9.0) will be available to all players.

I used up all my essences donating, so I cannot request trades for myself.

Plus, there's a tiny limit on how many we can have at a time and they intend to use them as prizes in events, including Heroic Races.

So if you aren't doing trades, and it's a lap reward, you'll instead get (a no doubt pitiful amount of) gold or food instead for completing that lap. That's not exactly encouraging participation in either part of the game.

I personally don't see it as very useful, although I'd be willing to trade with anyone for just about anything. Sorry, you can't have my Ultimate or RoL orbs just yet. I still need those. But I will let others instigate the trade. I personally don't really need anything.

I just heard that they are imposing a 12 hour freeze on anyone who tries to go "alliance hopping" just to trade orbs with others. This is their preventative measure for that. So if they leave an alliance, then for 12 hours, they will not be able to join an alliance. Is that correct? Or is it that you must stay in an alliance for 12 hours and can't LEAVE it for that time?

The official post says that if you leave an Alliance you won't be able to trade for 12 hours. Think of it like leaving an Alliance activates a 12h timer until you can make a trade. It's not about joining or having to stay, just the act of leaving imposes a cooldown.

I guess you could spend that 12 hours not in an alliance, or hopping between them, but every time you leave one it restarts the timer.

Okay, my own thoughts on the Orb Trade.

1. Trade Essence should not have a hard cap on them.
2. Trade Essence should only be available for Heroics, maybe Legendaries and Epics as well, but definitely not Commons, Rares, or Very Rares.
3. You should be able to ask for as many Orbs as you want, while having to give the same amount of Orbs as you ask for.
4. Same Rarity requirement is good.

Overall, a good update with some questionable decisions.

I'm pretty skeptical that this will turn out to be actually valuable. More likely, everybody's going to have surpluses of the same orbs and needs for the same orbs. You need differential supply and demand for trading to make sense.

Since I have a few gaming accounts that are not as advanced as my acct this would valuable if I actually had essence to donate but since I don't, two days in and it is useless for me.

I got two new islands to unlock with cash, but no alliance trading thing whatsoever

I wish you could manually adjust how many orbs you're asking for. Sometimes I don't need 15, I only need 10... Other times it would be great to have 20 or 30!

Are you in an alliance, trading will only show up in the tree once you are in an alliance?

Given further experience, I have to agree. The essences add nothing but frustration.

I am out of essence, all used to trade to my teammates none for requests which I could have made. In all honesty the only ones I would want are ones that my teammates most likely will not have so I am ok with not starting any trades

Than that is your answer, orb trading is an alliance only feature.

I think that this is a very exciting thing for me! Since I am trying to get my Apocalypse to 5 stars and need 500+ orbs for his next one, this’ll allow me to get rid of those 8 or so orbs that I got from an event that are making my ToL a pain to scroll through and get Apocalypse orbs that I desperately need. The way the trades are set up allow regular players to trade normally and prevent the mechanic from being abused. I would, however, would like to see trading in larger and more specific denominations to make it easier to empower (see above example) or summon without needing to do many individual trades, and to do a full 100 orbs for anyone who would want to trade a dragon for a dragon.
Tl,dr: I like this feature and would like to see full on dragon trades, if possible.

@scott-clark I am in complete agreement. That's real good insight.

I think getting 500 orbs of anything through trading is going to be a long shot. Even 100 orbs. For one, you would need a ton of essences, as well as whoever you trading with. And two, you actually need someone that has them and willing to give them up.

I think that the rules and required essences right now are too strict to be able to do anything drastic. This may be a preventative measure so that players don't band together to manipulate the system to give each other 5* dragons. To me, this trading essences should be used much like Joker orbs. Don't use it unless you are really close to getting a dragon or an upgrade for it, otherwise you won't have any left.

Rather than having essence, I would rather you are only allowed to request 1 trade per day. It is clear it is only designed to help you get the last few orbs, which is good. Make you laugh I got Rudolph Dragon this way yesterday.

Don't waste your gems, there are only 3 in there.

If you are playing on mobile, info and instructions here.

If you are playing on pc aka Facebook, you have to play on iOS, Android or the amazon mobile apps.

After giving it some more time, I'm concluding that this feature is, as it stands, completely and utterly pointless. Essence is so rare and expensive (1400 grid coins for 2C/1VR?!?) that you can't expect to actually trade in any meaningful way.

Yep as about as much use as the Greenhouse, another SP not thought out and great idea spoil.

Quite P2W compared to Monster Legends cells donation because you need something also if you want to trade that depends on the rarity of the orbs you're asking, plus you'll need other orbs of the same rarity as the orbs you ask, today I asked for kitsune dragon orbs in exchange for giving boulder dragon orbs( since I already own one boulder dragon) which those dragons are legendaries, but I don't have any problem, it's a neutral opinion.
