Hello everyone and welcome to my 4th analysis, this time featuring Malair.
Malair is currently available in the Battlemages Maze for a very(VERY) reasonable price(around 2668 Maze Coins with with 10% discount), so I suggest you claim him! Try to move him in discount hours though.
Malair is a very efficient Magic attacker, with an amazing 3553 Attack and 3454 Speed backed up by immunity to Possession. He also has useful moves, like 50% Stamina Drain and a move that applies 2 random negative effects to a single target. All of these combined make Malair especially useful in Magic Wars due to Magic monsters' tendency to use Possession moves as a deny mechanism, and his ability to swiftly get rid of them with his unresisted Life Stealing attack.

Runes: 2 Strength 1 Speed
Vassago has 1 turn of CD, is unresisted, has 60 Base Power, and it restores 50% of the damage dealt as Life. Surgat can ruin an enemy if you get luck, and it deals reasonable damage. Morax can deny any monster at or under 50% Stamina and it also softens up attackers-this move is perfect agasinst VoltaiK and Zyla. The last slot goes to Xezbeth for AOE or Zagan for high single target damage+Bleed. 2 Strength 1 Speed makes Malair hit hard and the 1 Speed is necessary after a certain player level.
Teammates: Malair is a monster who should mostly be used in Team Wars, as other attackers tend to outclass him otherwise since his thing is having an immunity to Possession and access to Vassago. However, as with all attackers, damage boosters of any kind can be used to raise his damage, which in turn allows for better chances at one shotting enemies and bigger heals from Vassago. Monsters like Bo Tai can use their cooldown deactivating moves to allow Malair to use Morax, Xezbeth or Surgat multiple times which results in almost guaranteed immobilization of a certain monster.
Countering Malair: While Malair is not capable of destroying your team outright like some of the other attackers, he is a monster who cannot be ignored while you're up against him. Tanky monsters like General Atum and Ouros can shrug off his attacks, but Morax will force them to recharge soon. Faster monsters are your safest bet against Malair since not letting him do anything will negate his annoying attacks- this part in particular is why Malair truly shines in Team Wars; unless there is another ruling who allows for other deniers(and even then you have access to your own other denier), denying Malair with Magic monsters alone is a daunting task.
