With about 17 hours to go, my price for Baltasar is still well above 700 diamonds. And I did my best to empty all pools, including (unfortunately) short nights so I didn't miss much there. I even bred loads of Pandakens and Thunder Eagles - combats are done, so what's left are things I can't speed up, breeding, hatching, feeding and collecting gold... I figure the price will be well above the usual 249 diamonds for an offered monster at the end of the event.
We know nothing about the breeding event, so we don't know if it will be worth to shell out the diamonds for Baltasar. That's a lose-lose proposition for Socialpoint: If the new monster is so-so, all people that decided to get Baltasar will be unhappy. If the new monster is good, all players that didn't shell out the diamonds will be unhappy.
But most obviously, as only few players will get him, most of us will be left with memories of an event where we did our best for 3 days but got nothing in return. And instead of giving out something easily achievable for the birthday party, SP looks greedy again.
Bad public relations, Socialpoint. Why couldn't you design an event where the monster would be within say 100 diamonds? Why didn't you tell us details about the breeding event so we can decide on a solid ground if it's worth to spend diamonds here?
