Wyrmlad started out as a lowly soldier in the magic army, with no particular ability. He rose quickly through the ranks as a brilliant strategist and helped his General emerge victorious in many battles, however, many much more powerful monsters were jealous of his position. One of those was Malair.
Malair did not think that Wyrmlad, an intellectual, deserved a spot as one of General Shannara's top commanders. He, along with Singularis, devised a scheme to sabotage one of Wyrmlad's battle plans. They leaked an important strategical manoeuvre to Dommeath, who imparted the information to General Holter. However, the plan was foiled by Manolyth, who was personally sent by Shannara to spy on the metal army. Singularis was banished to an unknown dimension, while Malair barely escaped with his position as the protector of Earth.
When the dark magic consumed Malair he was reawakened with the desire to take revenge on the former strategist. With a forbidden ritual and using the power of prophetic dark magic, Malair was able to thwart many of Wyrmlad's strategies. Shannara was furious, and he was demoted to a lowly worker with a menial job.
Wyrmlad's loyalty to the Magic remained. He sought out different masters of combat in Monster Legends - Master Fong, Rudicius, Uriel in an attempt to help his General - but was rejected each time. Downcast, he made his way from the Wang Sun Mountains back home. However, he met Vortux on the way, and since Wrymlad was taken aback by the sudden attack from a powerful metal entity, he did not have the chance to defend himself. His help came in the form of a holy being - Shakti - who fended off Vortux with little effort.
Shakti did not see the pure heart of Wyrmlad until he was begged by Wyrmlad for help and support. Shakti, filled with sympathy and directed him to Kassia, one of the greatest prophets and users of magic in the known universe. Kassia restored his hope and optimism not through magic, but by showing him what he could become. Wyrmlad could stay and train in the art of light magic with her, or go on in his journey to find a purpose in life.
Wyrmlad refused the offer of power and glory, and set off once again. Elvira was greatly swayed by the event - she full-heartedly believed that Wyrmlad should be rewarded for his noble actions. However, Azuriel was not convinced. She had been watching over the metal forces from heaven and a large number of Wyrmlad's strategies had caused the death of many innocent metal beings. She received the support of Remiel and Ragnael, while Barbael backed Elvira, knowing that Wyrmlad was not aware of the extent of damages caused by his plans. The angels of heaven braced themselves for another argument between some of their most powerful.
The quarrel lasted for a few years until Ahran personally descended from heaven and visited Wyrmlad to end the dispute. He offered to train Wyrmlad in the arts of combat, was delighted to be able to protect those who were weak, remembering how he had been saved a few years ago by someone who he had never met.
Wyrmlad was so dedicated in his training he was able to receive a weapon specially forged and tailored to his style - something only Valgar was able to achieve. He, like his teacher, used a spear glistening with holy light in combat, and was equipped with enchanted armour that increased in strength the braver he was. Wyrmlad went on to eliminate many threats to peace in the dimensions - most notably being Dracontium and Drakor. Now, Drakor has risen again and is after the peaceful dragon Drekk - it will be up to Wyrmlad to secure peace once again in the realm.
