Hello everyone and welcome to my 221st analysis, this time featuring Dr. Marihelson.
Overview: Dr. Marihelson attempts to do something that's, quite frankly, impossible in the very fast metagame of today. His goal is to give enemies Double Healing, then Reverse Healing, then heal them by 30%, which increases to 60% turnt into damage - taking 3 whole turns in the process. He does possess Speed that ties with the likes of Baba Yaga along with an AOE Stun, but that Speed is just the threshold of fastness among 3 Speed carriers today. Despite these glaring shortcomings, Dr. Marihelson can put in good work if used right; he is very situational if you are not going to use him as your primary denier, but he can dismantle some important team members carrying healing Relics, such as Dunn Ra and Healing Mask. Not only this, but Marihelson's Double Healing is useful with allies that focus on healing or boosting the power of your team's healing Relics. To sum up this overview that's honestly all over the place, Dr. Marihelson is an average monster that has its strengths when used right, but one has to acknowledge his weaknesses if they are to use him.
Build:
Moves:
-Radiocaesium
-Mutagenesis
-Ionizing Radiation
-Radon Baths/Hormesis
Runes: 3 Speed/3 Team Speed
Mutant Rune options: Speed&Life, Team Speed&Team Life
Relics: Amulets and Essences
Build Explanation:
Radiocaesium is an AOE Stun that can also Curse and apply Poison to all targets with a 50% chance, which makes it better than your average deny move. Mutagenesis is a must have on Marihelson, since it applies his signature Reverse Healing. Ionizing Radiation gives both teams Double Healing and is part of Marihelson's combo, but most of the time it'll be just used to increase the healing your team gets. Lastly, Radon Baths heals your team more, but Hormesis heals both teams, which is important for Marihelson's combo if you're going for that.
3 Speed if he's a denier, but he's usually better off with 3 Team Speed and leaving the denying for monsters more suited to it. Life Mutations are standard.
Teammate Options: Capitalize on his Double Healing with monsters that are tanky or that have Life Steal; Cain is a good example of this, as he has a good Life Stealing skill and a move that gives him Regeneration. For more Teammate options, check out this article.
Countering Dr. Marihelson: Removing debuffs at any point will absolutely ruin Dr. Marihelson's healing combo. For more Counter options, check out this article.
