@nynaevelan been to 3 rescues, this is the first i've seen quests requiring heroes linked to the maze ad a level requirement (food dump...already had to level kpop from 16 to 18,not a big deal, but still). then requiring a semi token heavy heavy metal dragon requirement on easy mode, and from what you posted, looks like on 2 nodes he is required. that means rush him to hatch, then level up (gem and food dump). if you don't have enough heroics, then hope u get some from freebies or rescue and then rush to summon, hatch, feed. and again, haven't seen heroic requirement from the previous 2 rescues and as you pointed out earlier, you were glad they did it this way for te "older players"...hence, this is not looking like "all the others".
final thoughts...easy is hardy "easy". i can understand hard mode to be difficult, but many aspects of this race is just a head scratcher. i don't even want to know about the keys...they'll probably rush that in tha last few days.......but i get it,they have to make some sales....but whatevs.....time to slow down anyways.
I guess it is different perspectives. As to your first point, previous rescues (not all) have had specific requirements, the last one required the Summer Party dragons. The one in June I believe required the Pets. There was a legendary one that didn't require event dragons but it did require legendary dragons. Memory is drawing a blank on the others I would have to dig through screen shots to pull up notes on others.
Most events usually require some kind of rush, either in the rescue or in temp quests. It is up to you to participate or not. As to the easy or hardness of these, I've mentioned this before but I see the Easy path for newbies at a minimum, the Medium path for medium level players and the hard for the advanced players. Now this does not mean others cannot participate in them but these will require more resources, either to hatch or feed to prepare for them. Whether or not you do that is your CHOICE, no one is required to participate in them or do use up resources to do them. This is a game with many different types of players and many different levels of players, every event and every stage of events cannot be programmed the same for everyone, otherwise it can lead to boredom which could lose them players. Based on some of your comments I get that you are a ""newer" player and as such I do not think that you should get or expect to progress as much as a more advanced player. If you try that you will end up costing yourself more, not only in gems but possibly real money and resources as well. You need to think about what you want to accomplish and how much you are willing to spend to accomplish it. Take a look in the previous Rescue topic and you will see there are many players both new, mid range and advanced who do not fully participate in these because they made the choice to not pay so high to do them. Haha in fact I am probably in the minority of players who regularly post here who continuously participates on all three paths. With that said, even I have set myself a gem limit of what I will spend on them. Food wise it is not an issue, because the feeding usually falls within my given parameters, when it doesn't then i make the decision whether I will sacrifice the food or give it up and so far none have required a large amount of food. If food resources to get a dragon to level 20 is a hardship then you really need to re-think participation in these. As to the new feature of the entire path for the heroics, sorry if you do not have at least 12 heroics already I suggest you just go as far as you can get and then leave that path alone, that would be a bad decision to try to progress on that one by buying and rushing dragons. From the sixth fight on you need all heriocs and with a 24 hour cooldown if you only have 6 you are not going to walk the entire path. Just take what you can get and build up for the future.
I am a collector not a fighter, need I say more? Oh yeah....and female. ;)
