Hello everyone and welcome to my 257th analysis, this time featuring Gurlik.
Overview: Compared to other modern attackers like Marquis de Flambe and Gorg, Gurlik simply doesn't hold up. All of his stats are okay at best, his moveset features awkward moves and his trait evolution is painfully slow thanks to being a race monster - plus, where it ends up isn't exactly impressive. Then again, he can be obtained with minimal effort which sort of makes up for his prowess. In conclusion, Gurlik can be useful for beginners, but don't expect to see him in top tier play anytime soon.
Rank 0: Orc: Essentially Hardened, pretty basic and good to have.
Rank 3: Orc + Gravedigger: Very situational, but can be effective versus enemies like Samael and Wyrmlad.
Rank 5: Orc + Gravedigger + SC: Self Stun Immunity: Helpful, but not extremely impressive. Collectively, his trait is nice now.
Bite Them Gurmit does great damage to a single target when factoring in the Bleeding and Poison alongside its initial 55 Base Power, and having an extra turn attached to it makes it free damage. Warspellz Potion! is a massive gamble that results in one of two things: it gives him Triple Damage + an extra turn, which will most likely win you the game, or it will turn Gurlik into a baby - he can't attack in this form, but he cannot be targeted either. We'll Be Your Nightmare does massive damage to a single target and gives all enemies Nightmares. Lastly, Poison Them Poisons all enemies and removes all status effects from Gurlik, both positive and negative.
2 Strength 1 Speed with Life Mutations is a standard for attackers.
Teammate Options: Don't pair Gurlik up with Skill Mirror givers, because this will cause Warspellz Potion! to trigger twice, which increases the chances of turning into a baby. For more Teammate options, check out this article.
