Hello everyone and welcome to my 11th analysis, this time featuring Demise.
Overview: Demise is one of the first monsters to utilize turn passing, something that would become a crucial element of the metagame. Her release met with great backlash, as her moves were overpowered at the time and she got nerfed as a result. A monster that was nearly omnipresent thanks to said turn passing and at the time ideal 3465 Base Speed, Demise was slowly but surely consumed by the powercreep that took place in the game, even if she isn't a bad monster at all with her good buff/debuff control along with turn passing. However, monsters like Rocigon and Samael were simply too much to contend with for poor Demise, whose Speed is not enough against the deluge of 3500+ Speed monsters with their insane movesets, and her trait might as well be non-existent.
Build:
Moveset:
-The Light Within
-Strength From Beyond
-When Light Corrupts
-Endless Celebration
Runes: 3 Speed/3 Team Speed
Mutant Runes: Speed&Life, Team Speed&Team Life
Relics: Amulets and Staves
Build Explanation:
The Light Within clears all debuffs from all enemies while giving them Damage Boost, not only aiding attackers, but also getting rid of pesky debuffs like Tortures and Precision drops. Strength From Beyond transfers the turn to its target and gives it Double Damage, and this is more useful than just making an attacker wipe everything out - for example, you can give the turn to a monster who can stop an important monster in the enemy team that's about to move. When Light Corrupts is mostly useful for its buff removal, but the random effects can sometimes be devastating. Lastly, Endless Celebration is another AOE buff removal.
3 Speed is to pass the turn to a slower monster like a secondary denier with Strength Runes. If this won't work, 3 Team Speed is the best spread to increase the Speed of your team.
Teammate Options: For Teammate options, check out this article.
Countering Demise: She's very vulnerable to all forms of denial and her Life isn't that high, so focus on denying or one shotting her. For more Counter options, check out this article.
