Hello everyone and welcome to my 28th analysis, this time featuring Valgar the Pure.
Overview: Valgar is a good disruptive monster that offers protection and damage boosts to allies, and very efficient buff removal from enemies with a 0 CD AOE buff removal. Bulwark is a fantastic trait for a monster like this, because with it Valgar has a high chance of dodging deny effects and Precision modifiers, allowing him to continue debuffing enemies and buffing allies while the others recover from their debuffs. Unfortunately, Valgar's Base stats, apart from his Base Life, are terrible.
Light of Punishment is extremely spammable with 0 CD, 30 Base Power and an added AOE buff removal, making attempts from enemies at giving themselves buffs like Evasion and Mega Taunt almost useless. Light Salvation gives all allies a Photophobic Shield for 2 turns, protecting them from most attacks and making Tortures useless on them. Holy Light can be used to rid an important ally of their debuffs, allowing them to work without interruption, especially with its 0 CD. Lastly, Divine Light applies a great cocktail of buffs that attackers of any kind will enjoy - Double Damage, Precision and Stamina Regeneration, which applies great offensive pressure to the enemy team.
3 Team Speed with Team Life Mutations helps the team in the best way Valgar can, but one or two of these should be cut for regular Speed Runes if you want to use Valgar as part of a cheese AOE strategy by using Divine Light on your attacker to one shot all enemies, since that role must outspeed your attacker at the very least.
Teammate Options: Torture teams and monsters with multiple moves of the same deny type, like Nabuline and Hydratila the Icebringer, appreciate the buff removal Light of Punishment brings with it, the former for ridding the enemies of Regeneration and Phobic Shields, while the latter for removing the Recently Denied buff.
