Hello everyone and welcome to my VIP Priority List, where I'll be ranking VIPs from 9 to 1 (9 worst, 1 best) in which priority they should be bought, and to an extent, which ones are better. Please do keep in mind that these factors below were included when making this list. Also, know that all VIPs are good monsters on their own thanks to Bulwark.
-How the VIP fares against monsters of its own element&book.
-How the VIP performs against other monsters in general.
-How unique the VIP's moveset is.
-How good the VIPs stats are.
-How good the VIP is at what it does.
-Considering you have at least 3 good monsters of each element. If you lack in specific elements, then buying the VIP of that element may be a better choice than that which is listed here.
-Most importantly, these are my opinions and of course I'll be expecting some people to disagree, but please state that in a proper way.
9-Osur the Brave
I'm pretty sure everyone saw this coming. Osur the Lame, the bear VIP that everyone loves to hate, and there is a reason behind it. Osur simply lacks in the movepool department since his moves aren't incredibly impressive when you look at other Natures like Laomu and even Cyan Nathura. Even though he is the only VIP in the Good Legions book, Uther the Valiant and Valgar the Pure are very likely to join him there and even if they don't, Osur is still not amazingly strong there.
8-Hydrok the Forgotten
Even though Hydrok fares greatly against Water types and has awesome stats, he lacks a deny move of any sort and doesn't have guaranteed immunity to Freeze, so he is listed all the way down here. In the Evil Legions, Zyla the Faithful dominates him, even though he fares well against Krampus and Kaih the Eradicator.
7-Nox the Condemned
When partnered with Timerion or Alex Bone, Nox becomes a fearsome attacker since his ally doesn't die to Abducted Soul. However, Nox is simply too risky to use in Team Wars, which is the main aspect of ML. If you do manage to get a ruling that suits the proper use of Nox, go ahead and use him, he'll do great work, but the chances of that scenario happening are slim-especially since Alex doesn't belong to any book and Nox will almost definitely cost you coins, but it may win a clutch game with its devastating moves: even 1 coin is better than 0 coins.
6-Kaih the Eradicator
Even though Kaih is a fantastic Fire monster and a monstrous attacker, except for Bulwark and Ignite, there is not too much that's special about him-especially after Lucifire's release, who also has Ignite and can heavily reduce the damage of his AOEs. General Darmith is a good and easily accessible substitute, who halves all incoming damage, also has access to high damage AOE moves, and has access to Double Damage and a trait that's close to Bulwark-not being too unique drags Kaih down.
5-Zyla the Faithful
EVERYBODY CALM DOWN-
Whew. Now, only one word is responsible for this ranking: VoltaiK. Zyla and VoltaiK are almost exactly the same at what they do, and to make things worse, they are both Thunder monsters. True, she is better than VoltaiK and beats him in a Thunder ruling, plus she belongs in two books, but VoltaiK is almost free and can have 4 extra turn moves, making him a challenger in defense mode. It all comes down to one question: do you pay money to get the better version, or do you get the bit weaker version for free? Remember, this is a priority list, not necessarily a "VIP Ranking List".
4-Uther the Valiant
Uther brings great survivability and awesome AOE damage to the table, along with a great special-something not many Metal monsters can do. He also has a 65 Base Power 0 CD unresisted move, which is an awesome weapon against Timerion and any monster in general. Unfortunately, his use is limited to Legendary and Metal rulings since he isn't part of a book, and doesn't have a proper deny skill.
4-Nox the Condemned
He is 7th place in terms of attacking, but in defense mode, Nox is a beast. There, he doesn't have to worry about Total Obliteration killing his allies- if the enemies die, then Nox did his job. Denying him isn't easy too since he has Bulwark as his trait. Add in a denier or the spread of 2 Speed 1 Strength, and you have a battle that is almost always on the ropes. The only weaknesses that Nox has is his low Life, average Speed, and the AI that is controlling him. Plus, Krampus and other deniers still challenge him for base defense.
3-Valgar the Pure
Immunity to everything except Light to his teammates for 1 turn, a killer special, access to Light of Punishment, giving an ally Double Damage, Precision AND Stamina Regen, and having high amounts of damage on his own are all fantastic. What Valgar lacks is not being in a book, a deny move and unimpressive stats, otherwise he is an excellent monster. Incognita's release and the seeming removal of Common Wars hampered Valgar's role in a team.
2-Scarr the Outcast
He is the best Magic attacker, he has Amplified Power to deal with Possession effects and gain great buffs, he has a chance to deny enemies with Witchcraft Area, he has access to great AOE and single target damage and he belongs in a book AND has amazingly good stats. Scarr is actually very close to being a perfect monster, if he had a proper deny move and lower CDs he would definitively seal his place as the best VIP ever made. And one of the most important details here is, Scarr doesn't have many competitors at what he does, since they are all either entirely dedicated to support or attacking whereas Scarr is good at both of these.
1-Hiroim the Tenacious
Access to Mega Stun, huge Speed for an Earth monster, AOE Daze and a move that takes all single target attacks all bring Hiroim way up here. He is excellent vs. VoltaiK and Zyla, two of the most powerful attackers in the entire game, and also deals greatly with Baba Yaga. He can also give a 100% Shield to an ally and give Stun immunity to said ally-the main form of deny of Earth monsters. As if this isn't enough, he also has a 70 Base Power unresisted move that has 0 CD! However, he doesn't belong in a book, which makes using him harder, and he is one of those monsters who'd die for a 5th move slot, plus his Base Strength is not impressive, which renders his 70 Base Power move weaker. As with Scarr, no substitute exists as no monster can draw all attacks, AOE Daze and Mega Stun at the same time, and even if a monster did that, Hiroim's Speed is above that of usual deniers.
1-Zyla the Faithful
Counting out the existence of VoltaiK makes Zyla the single most powerful VIP, most powerful attacker AND a competitor for the best monster title. That's enough said.
