Collections: 600 coins every 8 hours (5400) = Total: 5525 coins.
The total does not include coins from quests or Dragon TV.

All chests on our map contain orbs of Cosmic Detonation dragon. Everything else can be seen in the game itself.

Why is it in my head I had it that Sidemen was the main dragon? Guess I will be doing this tower after all since I will be aiming for Cosmic Detonation.

Hi, it will be nice if the mods/Bettina can tell us if the total FREE coins is enough (provided we don't get too many spin 1) to get to the top.

I managed to get Deluge for almost free so I might as well get this as it is like a twin dragons.

@gemspender Knowing the top is reachable is not as simple as yes or no. The random distribution of spins means that each player requires a differing amount of coins to reach the top. Most will likely be able to, assuming you collect all sources of coins and do not deviate on the path. I will be writing a python script later to get a confidence interval for how many coins to reach the top and will post the results here.

@gemspender This might be my non-caffeinated brain speaking but you have been around enough to know that there is no way for anyone to give this answer intellibly. As usual @Bettina-Löffler has provided the amount of coins available to collect, I am also well aware based on your previous comments that you are in facebook groups and have visited the site that shall not be named so this means you have access to the leaked, unofficial information. Which means you would also be able to see a leaked map of the tower. Bettina has provided us with the basic information, use your brain along with the leaked info and do the math yourself. Bettina cannot and most certainly should not do all things in all events for us.

But you actually removed everyone's post on maps that is outside of your own/Forum information because they are NOT official.

So you made an exception for Bill excel sheet but not the maps posted by members when the forum could not provide maps yet because the forum has not done the preparation yet.

For your reference, I already tried to not access the Forum because I know that i irritate you and your followers. But as a community moderator, you need to let people have access to this forum despite your likes, dislike especially since I am also trying to abide by the rules - even though I do need to look elsewhere.

@profboennestage Well I did not write any fancy scripts. However I did use the map posted in one of my fb groups. Based on the map and taking a straight shot from catapult to catapult to reach the top I came up with the following information.

Section 1 - 10 moves to get to the catapult.
Section 2 - 12 moves to get to the catapult.
Section 3 - 11 moves to get to the catapult.
Section 4 - 11 moves to get to the catapult.
Section 5 - 10 moves to get to the catapult.
Section 6 - 14 moves to get to the catapult.
Section 7 - 8 moves to get to the catapult.
Section 8 - 19 moves to get to Cosmic Detonation.

So if you received all ones at the maximum it would cost you:

Section 1 - 250 coins if you receive all ones (10 times 25)
Section 2 - 600 coins if you receive all ones (12 times 50)
Section 3 - 825 coins if you receive all ones (11 times 75)
Section 4 - 1100 coins if you receive all ones (11 times 100)
Section 5 - 1250 coins if you receive all ones (10 times 125)
Section 6 - 2100 coins if you receive all ones (14 times 150)
Section 7 - 1400 coins if you receive all ones (8 times 175)
Section 8 - 3800 coins if you receive all ones (19 times 200)

This is all information I calculated myself using the map and a calculator..if you use it, use it at your own risk.

Yep, they are now just decorations. However based on comments others made in the maze some of them have some decent amounts of gems. Will that continue in the tower? I don't know but it is something to consider before your disregard them.

@nynaevelan It's a kind of yellow shining chest in the top row. I was about to use the catapult but got a 3 in a spin instead of 1, and saw that chest exactly 3 moves from where I was next to the catapult. Pure luck I guess

I do not like the sentence: because the forum has not done the preparation yet....!!! We, who do the maps, can not be prepared before most events start. We are not the forum, we are players. We do not get internal informations of events. So until events start, we have the same informations as you have. That is why it often takes a while to bring up proper maps and informations.
It is not Nynaevelans decision not to allow other maps. It is the decision of the team. Most early upcoming maps are from hackers and often SP changes things in the last minutes, so the infomations might be not correst. So, instead of checking all other hacked maps or whatever the sources are, we are making our own ones.
And as Nynaevelan wrote. If we think there are helpful things that should be allowed, we can make exceptions. Btw. This link does only lead to a file. With forbidden livelinks is meant that links to channels, groups, pages, youtube and all that stuff are not allowed.
We wont change things just because one member thinks it is wrong when everyone else does not think so.

hi, i really just want the information the forum provides and it is Social Point itself who provides links to the Forum as their official information. It is also used by Customer Support whenever I email them that a leak from other Facebook surfaces and the Forum or the in game notices does not provide similar information.

Anyhow, the Forum team has made their points and if SP does not provide information to the people managing the Forum, then it is their issue and not yours.

And I am thanking the Forum team on the information you provide to the people who visited this medium.

So Nynaeve was completely in the right to respond, as she is a moderator.
And anyway there is no 'need' to rush for a map for tower islands. They don't change during the time period, so it doesn't matter if the map goes up on the very last day. And this is true of many events.

Thanks for your simulations, @Apod, great idea to test that way!

1. I assume you used equal probability (33%) for 1, 2 and 3 moves. Have you ever confirmed that assumption?
2. Did you include "wasted" moves before catapults in your simulation, or did you just use the grand total number of moves (I assume the former)?

Those are both VERY good questions.

1. Yes, I have done two studies on the outcomes of the spins and the average from the studies (both with 250 spin samples) was indeed 2 per spin. The number of each result was close and this combined to indicate the the distribution of rolls was uniform.
2. The wasted moves were taken into consideration. I only considered how many steps the player had to move each section and the excess did not roll over into a new section.

With those taken into consideration I am confident that my results are representative of the likely results that players will experience. That said, luck plays a GIGANTIC role in this event and thus it is not possible to nail down if someone will succeed or not without using methods that are frowned upon that won't be named.

lol I like the way you say that but other than giving you the list of die rolls you will get what other benefit would it offer since as you rightly pointed out it is mostly luck that will be the deciding factor in this event type?

So far I have moved and this time I am getting a good range of rolls other than 1s or 2s. But then as with previous towers I usually get a good number of 3s in the early half of the tower. It is not until I hit the last 3 floors that I usually get bombarded with too many 1s. I am 2 moves away from floor 5 so I am sure my luck is about to run out. Sadly the only floor I might be able to pick up a Detonation chest is on the 6th floor, the others I would need to go out of my way, so I am crossing my fingers and toes that chest has some Detonation orbs in case I do not make it to the top. I still have not decided if I will purchase to make it or not, I will decide that when I get to the last Collection period.

FYI Customer Service provides links to the forum that are posted officially by the CM, not just random topics in the forum. It is only those links and topics which are generated by SP that are "official" notifications, all other topics and comments are opinions and concerns of players.

Well, if I KNOW I'll never reach the top, I may focus on other parts in the tower. Specifically for my climb in the Cataclysm tower, I'll chase Sidemen puzzle pieces instead.

Are you referring to what would you gain from knowing your rolls? From the standpoint of SP they could be out of money from those who would not succeed, but try anyways and get close and purchase coins to get the last part. If someone knew they would not make it from the start they would then be more likely to adjust their strategy to go for chests or other objectives. If that is not what you were referring to, then I missed what you were fully asking.

Seeming to getting good rolls early rather than later is correlation and not causation, you are noticing something that is happen at expected times, but they are not related. The spins don't actually change with your position on the tower, this is because they are predetermined. If changing sections had an effect on what the results of the spin were, then it would alter the predetermined aspect and thus the nature of the spins would not be consistent.

@apod Yes that is what I was asking, thanks for that. As to your other explanation I think I got it. I never thought or about it but I guess it makes sense that all the moves are predetermined. but that still does not negate my believe that it is predetermined to give me good rolls early on and then reduce them to a lot of 1s later on. Is it related to the the position in the tower or not, now that I do not know because I do not often spend too much time in one section. I will just take your word for it on that part, my mind is not that analytical.

Very elegant indeed, @Apod! Moving around in the cheap lower tier and obtaining a large roll set to check the game mechanics. Sounds like you're not noob in statistics This is actually what I like most about DC.

Sorry to keep stirring in this caserole, but just because the distribution of the full dataset is uniform doesn't confirm that there are no dependency on position in the dataset (as @Nynaevelan suggests). Did you by any chance do an autocorrelation of the set?

The reason is that they are mutually exclusive, either the spins are predetermined or they are dependent upon position. Also the rolls being dependent upon the position in which they were rolled is contradicted by me acquiring data in the low cost zone (prior to a change in stance by SP) and these results being the same that I achieved as I went up the tower. If the spins were not predetermined then we could have a discussion on how position has an effect on them. Also if they are predetermined, how would the game know when you would be performing the spin, as this would be required for position dependent spins. Maybe you spent more time than normal to acquire a chest on the way up, this would require them to know what path you would take and would be impossible to implement.

So how do I know there is no position dependency? Because it would break the predetermined nature of the spins that this event and game is built around.

Also my program accounts for the first spin always resulting in a 1, thus I ignore the spin and I have that the player needs to move 9 spaces in the 25 zone and all runs start with a 25 coin cost associated with them.

I fully concur the rolls are predetermined, and NOT dependent on tower position - no doubt. I meant that they are dependent on the "position in the dataset", i.e. that there was a higher population of 3s early, and 1s late in the set. Just wondering what everyone thinks, I'm on the first step of floor 5, I have 4/5 pieces for the sidemen dragon, do you think I should go for the top of the tower or get the last piece?

@fadeless I am on floor 5 & 4 steps away from the last piece of sidemen. I am going for the sure thing & getting sidemen. Odds are I won't collect enough coins and/or get good enough spins to get Cosmic Detonation without buying coins. Towers are too unpredictable for me to want to buy coins for them.

Just got me the Sidemen dragon and will end up with 60 Cosmic Detonation orbs, not too bad for a free run up and down the stairs in this overpriced tower. I would be almost happy if the free Mully weren't so green and ugly Btw, did you get any of the 4 Youtubbies from breeding, anyone?

@fadeless haha at least it isn't 120, earlier I had a similar situation, I was sitting in front of the catapult but was 5 coins short. Now I just made it to the 8th floor, I do not think I can make it to Detonation for free, not unless they have another freebie set tomorrow. Even with the quests I might be short.

@Nynaevelan lol, I claimed sidemen with a few ads (finally they started working on pc again), and now I'm just trying to get Cosmic Detonation orb chests, and maybe some double runes, because I'm definitely not making it to the top of the tower.

See...it got me again, but hey thanks to the TV I made it with more than a collection to spare. Other than a side trip on floor 6 to pick up a Detonation chest I took the straight route to the top.

First chest: 20 orbs of Cosmic Detonation
Second chest: 20 orbs again
Third chest: 10. Fourth chest: 10 orbs again.
Fifth chest: 30 (!) orbs.
Total: 90 orbs from chests and I am sure the sixth chest will have atleast 10 orbs. This is the first time I will get the reward dragon in a tower without going to the top!

PS: Got Sidemen too.

Looks like i can get cosmic and sidemen by end of day. That’s fine with me. I’ll just buy the last piece of sidemen for 1k coins after claiming cosmic.

It appears I will get all 3 legendary dragons for free, got 2 already and with last collection will have enough to buy the last piece of Black Fire. Didn't open any chests.
