Map explanation:
Map 1: Queens Champion only - 4955 coins, players can collect some chests besides the path if they have enough coins.
Map 2: Queens Champion + all chests - 10280 coins.
Map 3: Chests only - 8570 coins.

White path is forward and red is back. Forward costs the number of coins that is written on the field. Back is always 5 coins each step.

I’ve opened 6 chests so far in Fog Island and gotten exactly zero gems or handles. Makes getting the pieces for the staff pretty difficult!

Picked up my dragon, now going to open as many chests as I can with my remaining coins.

White is go forward and red is go backwards. Pick the map that meets your goals and follow the lines. Before you start moving however make sure you have enough or will collect enough by the end to follow the full map, or your full goals.

@thla-thang White costs the coins that are written in the field. Red (backwards) cost 5 coins each step. Nyn explained the rest.

After scouting, looks like I can finish the handles but will be one short of rubies. Only one ruby chest left, so will have to wait till next collection/videos to see what it has.

@deedee68 yeah. I’m just setting it up that i only have to go for one chest, not 2. The RNG on my staff is good, but not on rubies. On one of my alts, both RNG have been horrible.

If you're going for the chests and don't have enough coins to get them all you should do the right upper path last, these 2 chests are the most expensive to get.
I've opened 10 chests in the fog island now and I think about another 3-4 from temporary quests and dragon tv and only got 1 handle piece so far. No rubies. This is quite disappointing.

Just finished the Island & got one Ruby.
That's one Staff & one Ruby piece so far.

Just finished, no rubies or staffs in any of the boxes.

I realized only last night that the different types of chests are meant to contain different pieces of the staff... I had thought the more expensive ones just had a higher chance of containing a piece...
I only got one piece of staff and two rubies so far. Not sure where the handles are? And the crystal from the race.

Am I the only one that did not chase these items down?? I don't know why but I didn't even bother thinking about adding them to my plan.

@nynaevelan I got the dragon and opened some chests. I need 1 more handle and 2 rubies. Hopefully I can get more items from the maze. The reward is nice.

All I have is the blue crystal thingie and I think I got that as a reward in the race, nothing from the few chests I opened but gems.

I did get the dragon and I need 2 rubies to complete the staff on my account. My Taterbug account is a different story, got the dragon , but need 2 handle pieces and all 3 rubies. Sigh.

So where do we get the handles? I only see staff pieces and rubies in the event banners?

@titania They are in the frozen chests.

@titania there are two kinds of chests. The staff comes from the chest that has a sort of horse shoe curve on top. The ruby is from the chest with the flames and a jewel on the front chest . They look kind of similar on the map.

@titania handles, staff pieces are the same thing. My bad use of words.

@deedee68 Not a bad choice at all. That staff on the picture seems to have a „staff“ which consists of 3 pieces, then the 3 rubies with the crystal on top an ALSO these two curved pieces on both sides of the gems, which I thought were the „handles“?

But these curved pieces are not shown as chest content, hence my question.
But I think all your replies gave me the answer, thank you: apparently these are just on the picture, but do not have to be collected! I have 1 staff piece and 2 rubies, so then would need 1 ruby and 2 staff pieces to complete?
