Hello everyone and welcome to my 83rd analysis, this time featuring El Dino Volador.
Dino has good Base Speed, great Base Strength and access to Magic attacks. In addition, he has a tool against Possession in the form of a Self move that also gives him Double Damage and Freeze immunity and an AOE Stun move which is rare among Nature monsters. However, being a Nature monster means being overshadowed by Laomu who can be brought up to level 130 with just the gems spent on one Galante, plus Dino's Speed is below 3465.
-La Voladora Special
Runes: 3 Speed//2 Strength 1 Speed
Monster Suplex is a Magic AOE Stun, which is not resisted by Nature monsters. La Voladora Special gives him a weapon vs. Possession and gives him Double Damage in addition to Freeze immunity. Plancha Splash has the golden 45 Base Power for AOEs and it also Dazes all enemies which might foil deniers. Lastly, MonsterSlam is a single target Stun, but Moonstersault is his highest damage move. 3 Speed is the denier build (MonsterSlam here) whereas 2 Strength 1 Speed is the attacker build.
Teammates: Dino, as a denier, can fit into any team. As an attacker, Kiridar and Plymouth can strengthten his AOE Daze to be unresisted and deal more damage. As he's immune to Stun, Fenrir can freely use Rage of Fenrir on him. Also, Dino is a very effective choice in Wars due to his effectiveness vs. Laomu and his ability to become immune to Freeze.
Countering El Dino Volador: With Laomu's Puzzlement you force Dino to use his Self move, making him more predictable. Since he's immune to Stun, that doesn't leave much else since Nature monsters only have Stuns or Laomu's Possession. However, not letting him use his Self move or denying him with a monster that can is the safest way since he can't deal much damage this way.
