Tips for runner events are here.

We start with 10 Flight Stamps and need 5 Flight Stamps per flight.
We can collect up to 180 Flight Stamps by doing tasks that change every 8 hours.
That will be 190 without quests, dragon tv and maze path.

Pro tip for this runner. We can get coins from this one. First it will be grid coins. When the maze starts (Jan 11) they will turn to maze coins So if you dont want to get more grid coins just wait until the maze starts before doing runs.

A hint. If you have a dragon rescue that will finish soon, dont do a run. If a rescue finishs while you are doing a run, it will crash your run and you will loose it.

Dragons:
Chimera -R- #224: 500 pinwheels.
Sand -VR- #472: 900 pinwheels.
Desmuk -E- #772: 1400 pinwheels.
Petra -L- #1181: 2500 pinwheels.
Sinbad -L- #1446: 4500 pinwheels.

@bettina-löffler Good point about grid/maze coins. It seems to be a little buggy in how it is showing- I was about to write that my game is showing maze coins only already today:

But then when I clicked on the maze coins “i” for information, it shows this:

I bought the £2 pack which contained a random amount of stamps, got 40, and I’m just in front of Desmuk right now. I’ll probably get Sinbad here, which would be nice.

I just realized that Alien Lurker is available in the Dragon Rescue. Why don’t you just go and get it there?

I’ve obtained Desmuk, and I’m very close to Petra. I like Petra, so that will be nice to get.

@_thespacebeing_ Someone posted a great trick here a while ago... : just do the first part of the rescue, and then wait for it to expire. This gives you 25 orbs. Then start a new one and repeat. Depending on how many joker orbs you have, you could also summon it with just the orbs you have during a happy hour.
And yes, Petra is a really nice dragon!

That is incorrect, or at least it is incorrect for me, I am getting maze coins. Clear your cache if you are still getting grid coins. Or try restarting your device.

So, I've had my highest score thus far since starting to play Dragon City - 115, where I was trucking along well....but also my worst....20....where I said, "Hey look, a rock I have to jump over" but didn't actually tell my poor dragon to jump so he rammed headlong into the rock and had to rest a bit, poor guy.

@tante My highest score was 15705.

@zarif-bin-kaiser Ohh, that's score, not pinwheels? I was like how did you do that? Then I went back and read what I wrote, I was thinking of pinwheels, not the score. I don't pay attention to the score, just the pinwheels because I don't see the score getting me anything - so I mis-wrote that part.

Does a higher score get you anything?

@tante Yes, slight more pinwheels and I actually got 1436 pinwheels in the holiday runner.

@zarif-bin-kaiser Wow! I get about 100 now, during the last runner, I spent a total of 35 gems reviving myself - that started after the 100 gem mark. I got about 100 (on section 5/5) and revived myself 3 times to get a mere couple of feet each time so I decided it wasn't worth the gems right now.

I'm sure people have gotten to the end....what do you get?

Back in the early Runner days I could get to 120, now I am averaging between 105-115, mostly closer to the 105 but for me I am only interested in hitting 100 for each run, anything over that is a bonus. I usually only aim for one or two rewards past the dragon.

@nynaevelan The highest number of pinwheels in a single run I got was 104.

So close i can taste it, one more run to go.

My average run is about 110 pinwheels, my highest 118.

Question: will resetting the missions when you have already done them, give you new missions to do for flight stamps? So for 40 gems you can earn an extra 15 stamps, is that correct?

You can redo the current missions, for another 15 stamps.

I'm getting tired of the runner game itself. It's not a terrible game, just not interesting enough that I want to spend this much time doing it. For instance I have 77 stamps right now, I'll get 15 more in two hours. I don't really want to do 18 more runs tonight. I just have other stuff I want to do.

I find I can get 100+ per run most times. If I hit a harder track I sometimes mess up around the 75 mark. I'd love to see them offer an "opt out" where it just takes your stamps and gives you a certain number of pinwheels for them. Like say 18 pinwheels per stamp. You don't get all the extra stuff like the gold and food pickups along the way. I can live with that. You might not get as far down the track as you would playing, I can live with that too.

It takes too long to do plus the chore of obtaining the stamps is an additional effort.... makes no sense considering the prizes are crap. Putting heroic type tasks to obtain stamps just so you can have an opportunity to spend more time doing a flight just to crash and burn is getting old. This event is nothing more than dangling a carrot with a stick.
