Apologies, but what does this mean, please?
I'm playing on Amazon Fire tablet (which is admittedly a POS and wouldn't not have been my first choice for starting a long-term gaming experience like DC). The Amazon App store is pretty dreadful. I assume my DC account is attached to that simply by virtue of the fact that I installed the game via that App store? I do not know for certain, but I believe the issues/bugs I experience in the game lately are directly related to the fact that it's running on a low spec device (Fire 7) and poor platform (Amazon).
I don't think that fact above is any use to me (each of 4 platforms linking to their play store), as I don't see any way I could log into the account from another device, even if it was an Amazon Fire device.
The annoying fact here is that Amazon are running an Android set up so there is no reason why it shouldn't link up with the Google Play store, other than Amazon being... well, Amazon.
I do understand the game was set up as a Facebook game. But if it has been running for 8 years I believe it would make sense for them to expand the connectivity of the game. They have had plenty of time to see that its a successful game. Over any 8 year period people are likely to change or upgrade devices more than once, which can lead to problems like this. Given the unsavoury publicity Facebook has garnered in recent years, I don't think I'm all that unusual in not wanting to have a Facebook account.
Also, the obvious elephant in the room is the fact that I wouldnt need to link the account if SP Support had been any use at all in helping me resolve issues. I have submitted tickets almost every day since Xmas and no matter who picks up the ticket, they send the same scripted responses that do not directly address what I have written and which make no attempt to fix the problems. I know it's a tough gig, and what I'm reporting might not even be something they can fix, but half the time i feel im talking to bots because of the complete lack of humanity in the responses.
Sorry if that went on a while and isn't all directly pertinent to what we have discussed previously. The in game chat system doesn't really allow me to talk with my team about it and support don't seem to be that interested, so I'm pouring it out here.
