Joey was a dollmaker, a very good one at that. He had a whole crew to help him with it. Their business was prosperous, worth millions. But, as with many things, it came to an end. He slowly got into the puppet making business and here things took a hard turn south. As Joey's mental health declined, so did his business. He began hearing things, he became irrational, egotistical, and dangerously obsessive. He pushed everyone out of his life trying to help him. He yelled obscenities, nearly incomprehensible, nor very understandable.
This warranted the attention of the famous Mr. Flaky, who even he was rather concerned for the guy's mental health. He agreed to help him accomplish his dream of bring his work to life, he claimed often times he can hear his doll's and puppet's talking to him, edging them to help them, often times screaming it. Flaky agreed to doing this and brought most of them to life. But this would, unintentionally come at the cost of Joey's life.
Joey's conscience was spread across the dolls, and a lot of them became malicious troublemakers, however one was different. This one was nicknamed Roscal. This one was not pure, but definitely much better than the others, it was curious and somewhat protective. It held an erie smile wherever it went, and with the coming of the lutum and corrupted era, many of the dolls became from pests to dangers to society. However Roscal became something different, a pure being with a heart of patchwork ready to protect.
As time passed there was another entity, also made from another man's work: Subject 701, that has recently escaped. It was wandering looking for things to do, and it found Roscal. They looked at each other with initial uncertainty, but they eventually managed to become friends even with their awkward chemistry and slowly started to piece things together about what happened to Joey and his hometown.
