Not sure who to tag for this, but since you guys are so set on making PVP defense win as a requirement to advance in this mode, how about you guys putting in some work to make the AI a little smarter when fighting human opponents?
My suggestion would be to allow players to set a preference in the 4 skills each monster has. Like assign a number 1, 2, 3, and 4 to the skills. Once assigned the monster will start with 1 and checks if the situation allows, use that skill first. For example, when using General Thetys if I assigned Stamina Devourer to be 1, unless I got hit with Cooldown Activated or stamina drained, the AI will use this skill first. If due to the above reasons it can't be used, then it will go to the skill I assigned "2" to.
This should help reduce the blunders it can perform somewhat, and can improve its performance in both PVP and in wars.
I can see so many monsters will be much more "pro" if you are allow to set this:
For Timerion: set Stop Time as 1, and Cooldown Activated as 2
For Shallinar and Greedy Dragon, set their self boost move as 1.
For Krampus: set Freezing Shadows as 1
For Zyla: set Affliction Chains as 1, Agony Chains as 2, Fast Chains as 3, then it will know to keep attacking.
Also allow for setting preference number to any amount of skill that the player deems fit. For example, if I want Greedy Dragon to do what the AI deem best after using The Magnificent, I only assign it as 1, and leave the other skill slots unassigned.
If a game as complex as chess, there exist AI so strong it can beat human players, this should not be in the realm of impossibility.
