Specials for myself and numerous people I know, have become a serious pain point. This includes both PvP and Team Wars. There are two main areas:
- (1) - Special frequency is way too high. In theory there is 5% of being generated, which is not even close to the rate they occur. Quite often multiple specials come up usually within the first round or two. It is not uncommon for enemy monsters to have their first attacks being specials or for the same monster to get multiple specials within a battle. There are many occasions where one enemy special occurs right after another enemy special. For comparison, breeding Laomu is 5%, if a successful breeding happened at the rate rate just about everyone would have multiple level 130 Laomus running around.
Stamina Devourers also increases the percentage enemy specials occur. The exact amount is unknown, but it is pretty dramatic. This behavior has been seen time after time. This is really a poor way to 'balance' the skill by bump up the percentage chance for enemy specials.
- (2) Specials are pretty much completely OP. With a few exceptions( like healing affect specials ), they are completely over powered with AOE, multiple affects, and high damage. With the ranking and scaling from the lab, it makes them even worse. Just about any special can wipe out an entire team. Adding life runes does not even help anything noticeable.
Often you can have an enemy team beat down to a single monster with little life left and then boom, all three of your monsters wiped out. With the high rate of occurrence and OP, PvP and team war battles are becoming a race to see which monster gets a special. Not much fun in.
