Hello everyone and welcome to my 158th analysis, this time featuring Samael the Fever Scatterer.
Samael has the invaluable resurrection skill-two skills actually-which allows him to bring back a fallen ally to battle. The most important place for this move is Team Wars, in which the number of monsters that are alive at the end of a battle determines how many War Coins you'll get. Along with this, Samael has a skill that gives an ally an extra turn, and this Samael's extra turn skill gives Double Damage and 50% Stamina to target, which wll allow it to surely one-shot all enemies, considering the AOE isn't resisted. This Samael is at 3476 Base Speed, which means he will outspeed Mommy and any other denier at 3465 Speed, which is the ideal Speed for deniers. Samael has no special Nemesis trait, but the good ol' Bulwark is still one of the best traits in the entire game to make him strong vs. all deny methods. This Samael is able to deal great damage against Dark monsters even without Strength runes, but he struggles against Stamina drains, and because his extra turn skill doesn't give Precision, the target's AOE may miss.

(If you have all Group 3 moves learned on a Nemesis monster at the same time, the next time you'd normally learn a Group 3 move, a Group 4 move will show up instead. Using this method it's possible to have 2 Group 4 moves on a level 100 Nemesis, by replacing the 4th move you have with the Group 4 you're offered, then replacing one of the Group 3 moves with the other Group 4.)
Before anything, you may have noticed there is no slash next to Samael Soldier even though it's a Group 4 move. There can be no replacement for this move and it's what makes this set in the first place, so you must have the move if you want to use this set, and probably all other sets since it's one of the things that makes Samael so powerful(probably THE thing), so buy him considering you'll have him at at least level 105.
Smallpox Epidemy is useful as an emergency high damage move, with the added benefit of Sunburn and Blind, plus it will greatly hurt any Dark monster. Pain Scourge is used to have some method of AOE damage and apply Daze to all enemies, plus removing all positive effects they may have such as General Nishant's Shadow Form. Unholy Resurrect revives an ally with 100% Life, but if you don't have access to this move, Necromantic Secrets will still suffice. Samael Soldier is what makes this set, and it gives the target Double Damage, 50% Stamina and an extra turn, which will allow the target to outright one-shot all enemies. 3 Speed is used to quickly use Samael Soldier.

Runes: 2 Strength 1 Speed/2 Speed 1 Strength

This set makes Samael an attacker. Pain Scourge is the only AOE you have, and is a very good one to use both for damage and disruptive effects. Smallpox Epidemy kills anything that doesn't resist it or has Life runes, and applies Sunburn and Bleeding to the target. Samael Soldier is to be used on Samael himself in this set to boost his damage output. Unholy Resurrection is still extremely useful to save War Coins or save yourself from sticky situations, and how this move can do it will be explained below. If you don't have access to this, just use Necromantic Secrets. 2 Strength 1 Speed allows Samael to one shot enemies, especially when combined with Samael Soldier. Because said move gives Double Damage, 2 Speed 1 Strength can still be used since the Double Damage will still allow for massive damage especially with Smallpox Epidemy.

Teammates: For the first set, an attacker is necessary since it will be the target of Samael Soldier. Thanks to the Double Damage, most monsters with 2 Strength and an AOE of Base Power 40 and above would fit the bill, but any form of Warthak deserves special mention as his AOE has 50 Base Power and 100 accuracy, which will be more than enough to destroy any non-Earth monster. The second set works perfectly on its own, but preferably should have a denier with it. An important thing to know is revive mechanics: whenever a monster is resurrected, the turn order resets to start from the fastest, except it starts from the second fastest. This can be used to your advantage to set the turn order in a way which would benefit you.

Countering Samael the Fever Scatterer: Jasastur and Krampus are the only Dark deniers faster than Samael, so they are crucial in defeating him. Samael the Plague Carrier is faster and can allow his own team's attacker to one shot Fever Scatterer's team. If Rank differences are considered, then defeating Samael becomes an easier task: just use a denier faster than him and hope the deny effect lands, or use a denier that suits other elements. Your performance against Samael will depend entirely on the War rulings, since CD activation and Stamina drain is your best bet at defeating this Samael. Another strategy against the first set is to deny the would-be targets of Samael Soldier since even with Double Damage, Pain Scourge won't do much with no Strength runes.
