Hello everyone and welcome to my 159th analysis, this time featuring Samael the Disease Spreader.
Overview: This monster is completely and utterly gone in the shadow of his two other forms and for good reason. Not only is he not cheaper to get, but he's directly inferion to them, featuring lower stats and weaker moves. However, the Samael family shares a couple of moves that are definitely what makes them so strong. Moves like Pain Scourge, Pestilence and the turn transfer skill give this Samael a baseline of power that is definitely not low. Bulwark is also a massive plus, allowing Samael to be a better support by dodging the debuffs he is meant to clean. All in all, Disease Spreader by itself is not a bad monster, but since his two other forms exist - and even one of those is outclassed by the other - there is no reason to go for him. But if you do end up with him somehow and don't have the other forms, you can use him and see successful results.

Builds:
Monsters that have access to Group 4 skills will have a slightly different build path. I will list the most viable builds for each Rank since some moves in Group 4 are pivotal to some sets' success. The monster's role will likely remain the same, however, so this won't be exhaustingly long as I won't repeat the same things.

Rank 0:
Moves:
-Pain Scourge
-Black Sickness
-Necromantic Secrets
-Death Moratorium/Death Delay
Runes: 3 Team Speed
Mutant Rune options: Speed&Life, Team Speed&Team Life
Relics: Amulets and Shields

Build Explanation:
Pain Scourge is Disease Spreader's most useful attack at this point; it is a Base 40 Dark AOE that Dazes and removes the buffs of all enemies while removing the debuff of all allies. It is useful against Mega Taunt casters or when the game reaches a stage and buffs/debuffs start going all around the place. Black Sickness counters CD Activation, and is a spammable buff removal + Daze that's better against Mega Taunt casters and Dodge Area monsters than Pain Scourge. Necromantic Secrets is a revival move, which is extremely useful. Lastly, Death Delay is a spammable heal with no CD or Stamina cost, but Death Moratorium has a much greater healing effect at the cost of having both CD and Stamina costs.
3 Team Speed with Team Life Mutations is the standard for a support like Samael.

Rank 1: Disease Spreader learns "Unholy Resurrect" at this level, a move that revives an ally with 100% Life.
Moves:
-Pain Scourge
-Black Sickness
-Unholy Resurrect
-Death Moratorium/Death Delay
Runes and Mutant Runes are the same as listed above.

Build Explanation:
The same game plan, but with a 100% Life resurrect instead of a 50% one.

Rank 2: Disease Spreader learns "Pestilence" at this level, a 0 Stamina, AOE Dark move that removes all buffs from targets, followed by applying Poison, Bleed and Special Weakness to them.
Moves:
-Pain Scourge
-Black Sickness
-Unholy Resurrect
-Pestilence
Runes and Mutant Runes are the same as listed above.

Build Explanation:
Pestilence is a strong buff control tool that can be used even after getting drained of Stamina. Not only this, but Special Weakness is useful since your monsters are likely to have this element of attack, which strengthens them.

Rank 3: Disease Spreader learns "Samael Servant" at this level, a move that gives an ally 100% Stamina and an extra turn.
Moves:
-Pain Scourge
-Samael Servant
-Unholy Resurrect
-Pestilence/Black Sickness
Runes and Mutant Runes are the same as listed above.

Build Explanation:
Samael Servant is nowhere near his other forms' turn transfer attacks, but regardless, it is ultimately a turn transfer that gives 100% Stamina, which is extremely flexible. If the enemy has Dodge Area monsters, you may consider Black Sickness over Pestilence because otherwise you have absolutely no way of touching them. His other forms may be able to run 3 Speed with their turn transfers, but this one is slow and his turn transfer isn't as impactful as theirs.

Countering Samael the Disease Spreader: Anticipation is key in staving off Samael, since the Trait will allow you to interrupt the deadly outcomes of Samael Servant. Other than this, CD Activation completely ruins Samael, so monsters like Pierceid can exploit this weakness. Stamina Drain works against this form of Samael.
