My younger son has been playing Dragon City for years. He's still not quite old enough to have a Facebook account. He's playing on an Android Tablet.
Recently, his tablet broke. Which required sending it in to be repaired. When we got it back, it was updated to Android 6 (in spite of me asking them NOT to). In Android 5, you could Root the tablet and use a back-up app to back up the game and move it from one tablet to another (or to reload if your tablet got messed up and you had to do a Factory Reset or...whatever). Android 6 currently doesn't have this feature...at least, not on his particular tablet.
So, right now, we've got 4 different options:
-
I send the tablet back to the service department...again...and get them to put it back to Android 5. Not the most ideal solution, would really rather not.
-
He starts all over again at Level 1...again, not an ideal solution. He's got a couple years' worth of work in the game.
-
Is there a way, with his game ID or...whatever...to contact Social Point and get his game restored (or, at least, somewhat restored)?
-
Go into an old, buggy, rooted tablet that I have, install Dragon City, do a restore to the latest progress YoungerSon has made in the game, and then set him up with Facebook.
How is playing on Facebook different than playing without Facebook? Are there things that you HAVE to have Friends for?
(You know, SocialPoint could have solved this whole issue by saving the data to Google Play...everyone else does... sigh...)
THANK YOU for any assistance you can provide, I appreciate it!
