A lot of people - loyal players that cannot possibly afford spending thousand of $$ on the game (teenagers, poor university students, unemployed or employed w a job that pays nothing more than minimum wage, and even those who have better jobs but other responsibilities that require $$) - have lately felt ripped off by the game. Seems like the creators have gotten really greedy, and only ever add more stuff that requires spending real $. While riches among us and ppl that don't have control to stop spending money on the game get to enjoy new monsters, ranked up, too, and supposedly awesome silver and gold relics, higher lvl runes and etc, the rest of us are loosing interest in the game just because of how unfair it had become. And those of us who do spend $ might enjoy the game more, but probably still feel just as ripped off whenever you add new and better monsters, requiring them to spend even more $.
And it's true. I've seen comments on FB page, I know how my team feels and I know how it makes me feel - I pretty much wish I had never started playing the game and I'm on the verge of quitting. This isn't my first monsters game - I played my signing monsters and thoroughly enjoyed it. I quit cuz it got too complicated and started getting slightly unfair ( nothing in comparison to ML though; this game is more unfair than any other ones I've ever played). And the biggest difference between the two is that basically all monsters were breedable there (there were a bunch that were only breedable for TWO weeks per year, and I quit once they added the ones you couldn't breed) and in ML less than a half of all monsters are breedable. Hah - "better" yet - even after playing for abt a yr and collecting non breedable monsters from events, I personally still don't have even a half all the monsters. And I have used real $ a couple of times to get some monsters. Fair? Um, don't think so. Like, alright, legendaries are supposed to be hard to get, but we should be able to breed all the monsters below legendaries. And make more legendaries breedable, just at a low % chance so that those of us that don't mind trying to breed them can actually do that. Also each breeding event should have higher % of getting the monster and it should last at least a week.
It also drives me mad that you increased the time breeding/hatching draconian best to match the rest of epics, but did not degrease the speed of some of the commons, like genie, to better match commons together. Like, I'm not asking here for 15 secs but almost 20 hrs is way too much for a mere common monster.
And there are more issues with the game besides the monsters. I don't even know where to start.
Ah, space. That's a good one. So I recently discovered that, besides limited number of islands there's a limit on the # of habitats that you can have, and the max is 90. Once you reach that and upgrade everything to max, you are screwed. Not quite, cuz you can get monster vault, but you'd have to spend insane amt of gems to have enough space for all the monsters. Like, the vault starts you off with two or three slots, then you can buy abt five slots for one gem each, and after that it's more. And after every five slots it gets more and more expensive at an increasingly crazy accelerating rate. Anyway, back to the islands: about two team races ago, I saved up some gold to buy island ten. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that I can only put there like three or four habitats (I'm really good w my space and managed to fit the other 80-something on nine islands). I spent days collecting gold just to get an island that's basically useless to me - could've used it to upgrade other buildings or sth, which, at the time, would've been more important to me). I still don't have the last island, and I'm not planning on ever buying it - not unless you implement some changes in the game. Suggestion: remove the habitat limit and either (1) keep a stable instead of accelerating and, hopefully, fairly low price on slots in monster vault or (2) increase the price of slots by one gem after every five slots. This unfairness screws up a lot those of us that are unable to spend any real $ on the game.
While we're on the subject of gems, let's see what else needs them: speeding everything up, buying monsters, team race (which should be called gems race or, better yet, real $ race), buying monsters, buying cells, chests, buying and unequpping runes (above lvl 1 and 3 respectedly), buying new slots for eggs, buying those minion builders - whatever they're called - and whatever else I might have missed. That's a lot.
By the way, while we're on the subject of runes, I gotta say sth. somewhere in the game, it says that unequipping runes comes at little cost... well, I don't see that. Whenever it's runes lvl 1 to 3, it's fairly cheap. Okay, even lvl 4, where it costs 1 gem is fairly fair. But then it gets really expensive and, considering how many new monsters are added on a weekly basis and how little runes one player has - especially while in the process of upgrading to runes of brand new lvl - one has to spend bundreds of gems unequipping runes from every monster and replacing them w even fewer gems of a higher lvl. So that should be balanced out better.
Time to talk abt relics. I really dreaded having them - couldn't imagine how much more unfair the game would get, and some of it did come true. So far, I find the relics pretty useless. For someone, who has monsters w, say, life of 25000 or more, a relic that, say, gives an armour of 350 is nothing. But to upgrade them, you need to use other relics and food. Like I don't have a better use for food - now in addition to feeding and upgrading habitats I gotta use it on relics, too. And I still don't have many relics. Seems like other ppl don't, either. Pretty much everyone I fight either still don't have relics on the monsters they use or the relics they use have a low lvl. I did hope that equipping a monster w relics and using it in battle would add more Xp to the relic but that's not just true. Just sth to think abt. Now that I've talked abt relics, let's talk abt the chests that seem to have been created specifically for giving relics to players. I have a few words there: unfair, double unfair, triple unfair. Daily chests barely ever give you relics, the rest of them you gotta buy for nothing else but gems. Video chests give out the same rewards (plus scrolls) "as the gems or ?" event, but now you have to open them, and that takes forever - especially considering that after opening every chest (which end up at the end of the storage), you're thrown back to the beginning of the storage. What sucks even more is that he now, events like growth spurt last weekend, had a useless relic chest or two that gave out one reward (btw, why is it called "prize" when, most of the time, you gotta spend gems (aka real $) to get those chests? It's gotta be called hard-work-and-sweat-purchase) and a scroll that, at least for me, ended up being useless waste instead of gems. I'd have rather taken gems and decided for myself how to spend them. Especially considering that it was gonna be my first time getting gems again for growth spurt in a while. And while I'm taking about it, I'd like to mention another issue I found. Here's a back story for it: back when I was probably like lvl 60 (and was happy being there), I started doing adventure maps. At first, they didn't add too much xp and I would lvl up too fast. But, as the rewards have gotten better, so did the xp (supposedly anyway.. I prefer lower xp). And it got to the point that my events like growth spurt and rune experience required more items collected/fed/bred/etc increased w a higher lvl. I still had the same monsters and runes, but had to collect a lot more to get rewards. Luckily, most of it didn't turn out to be hard. I struggled with gold a couple of times, but ended up getting enough for my meager 20 gems (and at least once - I remember that well - I collected enough at the last moment. I had about two minutes left when I collected it, and I had been hitting every habitat for like 20 min straight). With growth spurt, on the other hand, it had been tough. So I hit the adventure map again, but by lvl up fast I only made it worse. I'm now above lvl 80, and the closest I came to collecting gold to get 20 gems (still the SAME amt) was last week and I was still like 2 mil short. I had to keep waiting to feed my monsters until the weekend and, sometimes, i couldn't due to other events that required feeding to get rewards (like maze, race or island-type event). In addition, the other rewards that I get before gems in growth spurt (or should I say used to get? Idk how it's gonna be this week, and, hopefully it will go back to regular rewards): 1 mil gold first stage and 5 mil gold at second are becoming less and less meaningful. Here are the numbers: to get to stage 2 and earn five mil I gotta feed monsters w, I believe, 3 mil food. To get that, I need to make 100,000 food at 5 mil each. That's 150 mil gold. So the reward of 5 mil gold literally means nothing to me. And same goes for other rewards. It also sucks that, w levelling up, it gets harder to get these rewards but the rewards still haven't increased. Idk if they might, but at this point I'm not too eager to find out, considering that if I hit adventure maps again and lvl up faster I might not even be able to get to stage one of rewards.
While I'm talking about rewards, I'd like to mention a few other useless rewards: spins everywhere but adventure map and dungeons. As in the case with events like tune experience or gold fever, w higher lvl the rewards become less and less meaningful. A dungeon that, at the end, gives out 500,000 gold is pointless. The highest any of gold I can get from spins in that dungeon is 40,000 - also nothing considering that my monsters make 25 mil a day and more. Same goes for food dungeon - 50,000 food is nothing to me, considering that that any will barely feed my monsters and wouldn't be enough to upgrade habitats. And basically all the items in the spins are meaningless. That's not even a reward, it's a donation. Imagine if you were poor and needed $1 to get a crumb of bread and somebody gave you one cent - well, that's what it feels like to get those "rewards" - a donation that doesn't make any difference - just cuz you'd need hundreds, if not thousands, of such donations for them to make a difference.
Okay, lets see what I still haven't tackled: pvps and team wars. I'll start w team races just cuz it's quick and easy to deal with. At some point, I remember hearing they were supposed to get fairer, but it doesn't seem like it ever happened. in basically all the wars I've been in I knew wether we were gonna win or lose, and I was right. It's either fairly easy or it's really impossibly hard. None in between. Do something abt it, pls. It also sucks that, if we have, say, 26 members, we can only have a war w 25 and the one person that doesn't fight is the one with the weakest monsters. I think it should be based on activity of a player, not monster strength. That way, everyone would be more compelled to get as many of their attacks in as possible. Now, pvps. Those were also supposed to get fair. Um, nope, not the case. Most of the time my lvl 100 monsters are matched against lvls 110 to 130, and my lvl 5 runes are matched to lvl 6 and up. On top of that, the refresh button only works twice ("well, at least it's back," you say), and I'm still matched against stronger opponents. On top of that, unless my monsters can defend (which they can't cuz I'm not matched well against other players), I cannot win more than I lost unless I attack more often (which requires more attack points - oh wait, that costs gems! What a surprise! - and, apparently, the tougher task: better matched opponents. Before all the pvp changes involving supposed fairness, I had 3800 trophies, and then I suddenly went down to well under 3500. I more or less got above 3500 again last week, but now I'm down a hundred trophies again. And guess what.. when I was gold 1 instead of gold 2, and could've gotten, if I'm not wrong, 100 gems instead of 75, i discovered you guys had replaced gems with nothing else but relics (okay, so I got a couple of silver ones, but I still would've preferred gems). And for the current season - and I checked this time - its relics again. Like, seriously? I was happy with gems and food. At least you let us keep the runes, so "big thanks for that!" Anyway, back to trophies. I mentioned how unfair it's become, right? Well, there are those of us who have jobs and other responsibilities, and cannot play this game all the time. And yet they loose 100+ trophies a day w no way of winning them back! At least, before the pvp changes came in, we could've put a shield for a whole day or longer. Yes, it cost gems, at it was a tad too expensive, but at least we could avoid losing. And like, okay, bring back the shield at the same price (and make it cheaper for those that are lower league lvl), so that everybody can put a shield for a week, if they want to, and still get some gems. For that, though, one season should last a week instead. That way, say, those of us at lvl gold 2 could spend 25 gems on a 7-day shield and still stay in the same league and get 75 gems (if I'm not wrong), a net of 50. That way, those of us that have busy lives but enjoy playing the game during some free time, can actually enjoy the game and the rewards, and not have to worry about missing out on them. I think that's about it for this topic.
I also find those guardian buildings useless. I rebuilt all of them a few months ago, and haven't summoned a single guardian yet - takes too long and requires too much. I had been led to believe by what I read abt the temples that I needed to make A donation (not like 30) to summon a guardian. Gotta make some changes there, too, and if not, at least a button that lets you disable them. Idk how many times I opened one by mistake, and had to wait forever for it to load whenever my Inet connection was weak. Drove me crazy.
I covered most of the things that I could remember. There might be more, but I can't think of anything else right now.
I do have one question, though: what happened to monsterwood event where you'd get legendary cells for watching videos? I miss those. They really helped me get some of the monsters - they, together w my awesome and helpful team.
Oh, that reminded me of another topic: monster cells. Once again, you need gems to buy epic and legendary cells. So far, I've done that during cells sales, where I'd get 2 legendary cells for 3 gems.. that's a start. Just as with monster vault slots, it keeps increasing every so many purchases. Luckily, it resets for the next time, but still it's a rip off to those of us that don't have millions of $ to spend on the game.
Another thing that sucks is that you only get 50 cells for extracting a lvl one monster. Um, it takes a hundred to craft, so why can't you extract that many? The numbers just don't add up. I once mistakenly crafted the wrong monster (it was an epic unbreedable, I had that monster already + I had just gotten 100 cells; the monster was very similar to another epic monster, whose cells I had just finished collecting too), spending 100 cells on it, but extracting only 50. I ended up donating it all to my teammates but I could've donated more if it weren't for this mistake. So pls even it out.
Okay, I think I'm done now. Generally, all I ask is a fairer game for all loyal players, not just the ones that can spend real $.
For all I care, divide the game into two groups and don't have us mingle together, so that those able and willing to pay for the game don't make it impossible for others to play and ENJOY the game. After all, that's what the games are all about: providing fun and enjoyable experience.
Still loyal player, for now
