With the announcement of the new heroic race, Vortex, and he new heroic dragon, High Portal, I was curious as to how matchmaking between the competitors are determined. I’m guessing its by general activity. If so, how do they measure this “activity”? Thanks in advance!

Heroic Race Matchmaking
Post count: 10905Reputation: 6619Joined:Location: New Jersey, USAThey base it on the laps you've completed in previous races. Or so it is rumored, but I think they matched us several races ago and use that outlier for every race. I know some people who only qualify yet they are still matched with intensive competition.
I am a collector not a fighter, need I say more? Oh yeah....and female. ;)

Lol, that would be me. I have not “competed” since the second collection began. I have only had 1 race from the second collection that I managed to finish to get the new Heroic that was offered. All of the other races start off really strong. Generally I begin 4 hours into the race. By that time there are usually 3-4 racers already qualified making it pretty difficult to catch up so I don’t even try. Most of my races though have not had more than 1 racer not qualified in the end.
So, my races have not been based on prior standings. I’m just lucky that way I guess.

Heroic Race Matchmaking
Post count: 31Reputation: 1Joined:If that's how it is then I pretty much had this coming. In Frozen Lake race, I reached lap 5 and came first. So this time I got matched with a bunch of bulky players. So I guess I should just drop it at lap 4 in this race if I want an easy play in the next one.

It is possible to reach lap 15 to get both heroics without spending many gems. You have enough time to go there.

Actually, we are unsure of how the matchmaking is done. I don’t think it is determined by your last race. I actually think it is pretty random. Since the second group has begun, I have really been limited in my participation. I play enough to qualify and then quit. My races have been very active, with 2-3 players battling for first place. None of these races has gone less than 15 laps. In fact most were a bit more.
If it was solely determined by your past participation or placement, my races should not have been so active.
