We have been trying all day to start a war. First a war of 20 (we were more but we didn't want to wait), gave up after 3 hours, continued recruiting until we were a full 30 with 3 on lengthy cooldown, so been trying for at least 5 hours or more to get a war of 25, but just wouldn't match. Then I restart searching after it cancelled on us again and this is what we've got!

Is the reason that we couldn't find a match because the system was looking for an EXACT match? Both teams are 27, so it's an even match. Has something changed @Fox

Did you reach the other team to see if they have 3 on observer mode .
not sure if it an update or bug

They are a team of 27 eligible members, nobody on cooldown!

@David-ML Scary. That is probably not going to make match making easier.

Example 2: Team 1 has 29 members and Team 2 has also 26 members and they were matched in a Team War. However, only 25 members participate from both teams (25vs25). This has been fixed and 26vs26 team members should participate with Team 1 having 3 team members in the Observer mode.

@Fox this clearly is not the case as the system was first trying for 3 hours to find us a match of 22 which it couldn't find and then later in the day it took over 5 hours to find a match of 27. Whilst the intention here is good, you must prevent the system from desperately trying to find a perfect match. Otherwise teams with uneven numbers (no multiple of 5) of players search for endless hours like we did!!!

I wondered when I got up. I knew there had been a change but hadn't read it throughly. Been to busy with work this week. But I couldn't believe it took as long as did to find a match and then we have 27 which is weird. I know they are trying to improve but waiting that long to start a war, no one has time and I believe it kept timing out and it had to be restarted for a search.

We got matched 27 V 27 in about 10 seconds.

You were lucky? It kept on cancelling after an hour to an hour and a half of searching. The final restart that got us the match also only took 10 seconds or so!

Been trying to start a war for better than 2 hrs now. We have 30 but 3 are new and on cooldown. It has canceled the search itself and I've had to restart search twice now, this is really frustrating.

Additionally if I log off the game even for 1 minute the search stops. So now I have to stay logged on for hours so it can find a match. I hope this is not the FIX to match making!

@San sounds exactly like what happened to us! How long until you finally got a match???

We got a war of 26 vs 26 in seconds.

I think there are enough different teams around with between 25 an 30 member's the tricky part will be the fair matchmaking plus not drawing the same opponents time after time. It nice people wont be benched but maybe for matchmaking sake it would have been better to have an asign function with 25 wars...

@Ekto-Gamat I think our's and San's case show that this new matchmaking system allowing matches other than multiple of 5s still needs some tinkering. I like the idea very much, but if a match of 26/26 or 27/27 for example isn't found in 15-20 minutes, then other options need to be considered by the system, like 26/28 with two in observer mode like the example above says....

....oh and our first 30/30 war in ages is one of the closest and best matches we had in ages. We are matched against @Sinisism team and we are looking forward to a glorious battle in a few hours!

Now that I have studied the speedchart, I would say it's the other way around!!!

Have been rolling with an uneven amount for the first time since this update and it hasn't found a match after an hour.

@Fox I thought that amongst all the doom and gloom that is happening at the moment with bugs, glitches, hackers, etc. that I should come back here and point out that the new matchmaking system is delightful and a definite improvement over the previous lot of 5 system. It was always a pain to maintain multiples of 5. Either we had to hang onto dud players or I had to take out my second account or we had to wait to find some random player to get to the next multiple of 5 - a nightmare sometimes. This new system makes recruiting and running a team much much easier!!! So far we had matches of 26, 27 and 29 and other than the very first time, no exorbitant wait times either....

....I can't comment too much about the actual matches as we only had a few. However, non of them were gross mismatches so far. We shall see how things pan out over time....

That is an unfortunate streak. But I do not think they are mismatches. Your team looks strong enough.

Unless you want to take hours of searching you will always end up with teams that are either significantly stronger or weaker than yours and only sometimes with a team with more or less the same strength. Which is why I am not in favour of searching, but of fixed matching at the start of the war week. This would make it much easier to tighten the matching algorithm.

Having said that: have fun in the war! I am at base #1 and #13, but the real challenge will be C0ntr1v3d..:)

I dont mind being matched up against high teams, just not 4 in a row although this war looks to be more evenly matched compared to the last 3.
70k+ armour turn 1 on 2 monsters, yeah i think that would be a challenge

Has this been changed back? We got war of 25 V 25 with some players in observer mode

@Stvrox we were wondering the same as we had 3 matches in a row of 25 with several in observer mode. The first match took a very long time, so we thought it's because it couldn't find a match. However, the second one we got within seconds and the 3rd against PoF was also fairly quick. @Fox ???

We had almost all wars with 28, most were b2b
One was 26/28

We were also wondering whether this new matchmaking system isn't widely known yet and as such means that many teams still try to maintain and search with multiples of 5. The more teams with odd numbers out there are searching the better the chances of finding a good match! Maybe an in-game announcement would be a good idea...???
