Facebook is terrible, I won't be using it. Is there no option for in-game friends? Or, if the aim is simply to recruit more players, perhaps a recruit code?

It's just not fun to see all these buildings and such based on or requiring friends and it being locked to facebook (which, again, is terrible), effectively preventing me from participating or benefiting from those features.

@zli There is no other way. But you can put friends you make only for the game in a gaming list and restricted area. Then they can only see what you post in public.

It's not that I don't want to add friends to my Facebook for the game, it's that I don't have and won't use Facebook as it's an incredibly flawed service.

Please consider adding a direct connect option in the future, Facebook is dying a slow death anyway.

I can't figure out how to do that. I'm using a mobile android device, does that make a difference?

@zli Connecting your game to facebook is the only way to save progress there.

@Susan-McLaughlin Go on a friends account. Below the name and profile picture at the left side there is "friends". Click there. Then go on "Edit Friend List". Scroll down until you find "Restricted". Click that and it is done.

@zli The games are meant to promote Social Interaction. Social Point as well as many other games save much of your game data to Facebooks servers, which actually saves the company time, space, and money. So don’t look for this to change.

You can set up a Facebook page just for gaming. You do not need to do any type of maintenance or upkeep of the page. Just add the friends you need for your games, connect your game to the Facebook account, and just leave it be. You only have to check it if and when you need to add more friends.
