Does it make sense in terms of breeding to keep multiple versions of a dragon? I have a number of miss breeds and ended up with a couple of Armadillo dragons. Would it be a good idea to keep a level 4 version of it, a level 10, level 15, and a level 20? Does the level of the parents make a difference when one wants to breed a particular dragon? In other words, if I wanted to breed a dragon, would one of its parents at level 4 make that easier than having the parent at level 10, 15 or 20+?

There are a few dragons where the level is required to be used as parents see HERE. Recently during the temporary breeding events the parents can range from either a level 7 or a level 10 to be used as a parent. After your dragons reach level 15 it doesn't matter what they are after that the results will be similar. With that said other than a Pure or Viktor or Viktoria I would not recommend having multiples unless you have the room and you want to waste the food. I would recommend just keeping your dragons between level 7 and 15, preferably around level 10. But that is just my preferences.
With that said most of my dragons are level 15 to 25 or so and it still takes many tries on some breeds and easily on others. It is just all the luck of the draw. The only thing I can suggest is to just rotate the parents back and forth between the Tree and the Mountain. Keep in mind every account has that one or two dragons that are very hard to breed no matter the parents or the location of the tries.
I am a collector not a fighter, need I say more? Oh yeah....and female. ;)

@frankenberry I am with Nynaevelan with that. There are some exclisive breedable dragons that need parents on a special level. But for normal breeding and breeding events dragons dont have to be above level 10. It will sometimes increase the number of possible breeding results when they are above 10. Also you should not use the sanctuary for breeding events for the same reason.

Question for you both:
On the DragonCityGuideDOTnet Breeding Calculator, there is the option to select the "Minimum Parent Level". If I have a level 10 Samba and a level 25 Machinery, which is the Minimum Parent Level to select in that Option pull down? Do I select 20+ because that is the higher of the two or do I select 10 to 14 because that is the lower of the two? I suppose I can try to figure out how to ask them, but I thought either of you might know.
