@gemspender To me, this would generally not be worth the full cost of food to get 3 dragons to level 40 (I think this is about 50 to 60 million if all dragons start at level 1) as well as the amount of gems to speed up empowering 3 dragons to 1 star (about 150). But I think there are some exceptions in which it would make sense to complete heroic quest 2:

    1. The heroic and/or legendary dragons involved seem particularly useful for arena/league combat. I think a lot of players made this case for high ethereal, given its wind defense and (at least current) inability to be critical hit.

    2. A player already had one or more of the dragons at a decent level, and possibly already empowered. For example, if there was a “high positivity” heroic quest, a fair number of folks already have the high pos and space knight at level 40, and plenty of players have space knight at 1 or more stars (plus everyone who used the nyxonite on high pos already has him at 4 stars). I am guessing most players do not have an empowered level 40 colorful dragon, but if one only needs to feed and empower colorful, the cost is manageable.

    3. A player has a large surplus of food and gems - probably relatively less likely, but if this is the case then why not?

BTW - I forgot to state this earlier, but the quests can be completed in time without speeding up stages, assuming one starts quest 2 soon enough. Empowering all 3 dragons can definitely not be accomplished during the event without gems, however. If the dragons are already empowered, then no gems would be required at all for these quests.

Probably a lot of players already discovered this, but yes, heroic quest 1 requires all dragons involved to reach level 30 for completion. Heroic quest 2 requires all dragons involved to reach level 40, and additionally to be empowered to 1 star to complete stage 11 and claim the 200 heroic orbs.

I agree with most of the above players.

    1. Fewer heroic races would be nice, every 8 weeks seems appropriate. I like the recent changes to provide joker orbs instead of more tokens, and also like the speed laps to earn orbs for the legendary dragon awarded in the race. This is a nice way to obtain a 2 star category 9 dragon without spending too many gems (usually requires a few extra spins on the wheel to succeed in completing lap 20 for 200 orbs, but compared to the orbs shop, this is a relatively good value).

    2. The new dragon rescue format without keys was great, and the large amount of food awarded was extremely helpful. I hope rescues continue in this format at least periodically. I do think some version of an “alliance dragon rescue” would be very fun as well.

    3. I like frequent events, but it is nice to provide some time in between races and puzzle events, as they both keep breeding grounds and hatcheries occupied and make it a lot more difficult to breed and hatch as players normally would. For this reason I am in favor of keeping maze, fog, and grid type events because they simply require collection. The fog islands are also very nice when a large chest of gems is available.

    4. The ability to “donate” dragon eggs to alliance members would be a neat feature. I have numerous duplicates in storage that I will struggle to ever hatch, unless they are a specific dragon I am trying to empower and could use the recall for more orbs. It seems wasteful to simply sell all these extra VR, E, and L eggs for modest amounts of gold, and so they will just continue to clutter up my storage unless I can give them away in the future.

    5. Runner islands should return to a longer time period, with the legendary dragon orbs randomly available on the course. This is one of the few “skill based events,” where players had the ability to gain large numbers of orbs for particular dragons. For example, during the celestial wind event, it was possible to gather enough orbs to empower melted and celestial wind to 3 stars and also to reach the mythical egg chest without spending (and maybe some players did even more). If the towers, maze, fog, and grid events are going to usually require cash to complete, it is nice to balance the game with events where substantial rewards can be gained without spending lots of dollars or gems (races, puzzles, and runner islands).

    6. I will say that although it is not possible to fully complete a maze event with the available free coins, it is always possible to complete several paths and so players at least have a nice choice in how to proceed. I like that a category 9 with orbs for empowerment seems to always become available near the end of the maze event, so players can gather a good dragon for fighting if desired, or they can focus on collection.

Thank you for clarifying. I am sure you are right about the colors only being relative to one another, not absolute difficulty level. I allowed myself to get overly optimistic about the “green” meter being “easy,” when in reality it is still much more difficult than the normal breeding island events. And of course it doesn’t help that nearly half of the failed attempts are pure combos. In the end I succeeded from a collection standpoint, but not from a fighting one, as even an A-plus mythical can’t cut it in the master arena without stars. In the future I think my resources would be better spent on the puzzle island mythical dragons, as I know exactly what it takes to get those.

I was excited about this VIP breeding event, specifically the chance to breed the Whimsical and Durian mythical dragons. Getting both Dogkun and Catkun was a bit of a struggle, but I figured this was because they had a “red” difficulty meter. However, trying to breed Whimsical was a real challenge, despite it being “green.” After about 25 attempts (and a lot of gems), I have one Whimsical to show for it. Now I’m inclined to believe “green” is the hard difficulty after my experience. Does anyone know what the colors really mean, and are they associated with approximate chance values (ie red 15 percent chance, green 4 percent chance, etc)? So much for my idea of breeding multiple mythicals for empowerment...
