Is it possible to breed a heroic dragon without 100 tries?

And if you breed something in the breeding mountain but the time on the specific dragon was over, can you still get it if the breeding was a success?

I know I'm late, but from the previous event I got:

3 thor
1 zodiac
1 usurper

So far I'm only getting food(fire&ice event), I'd be grateful if I will find a heroic dragon somewhere in this pile

Instead of waiting, I bought the water titan dragon, I know that my luck is really bad with the breeding event island since my last successful breed was months ago

@bettina-löffler Didn't get all the coins yet, but after checking with the coins I have now, I might get the second star and reach to the top, I will do another check near the ending of the event(when I get all the coins, quest and ads)

Is it possible to get all the stars for free?
