    It is ironic that the new race starts today when I had planned to write this up and post it here. The new race may well be the nail in the coffin of team wars and this is why:

    Ranking has become meaningless
    Thanks to the creation of race teams, those groups that return to their main team artificially reduce their ranking as they don't earn war coins during races and therefore rank much lower than they should. And then there are teams that just stay with the race team, create a new one and then keep moving from race team to race team. And obviously, teams that don't do this rank much higher than they should. All this negatively effects matchmaking!!!

    The overabundance of Lvl 115 monsters creates massive imbalances
    Teams that always get 1st prize thanks to race teams have a massive advantage over teams that don't do this. When mid level teams fight against each other, it's who has the most race monsters wins. But it's not only that. It raises their MP and elevates their teams to a level where they often get matched against teams like us. We regularly fight teams that have oodles of race monsters on their bases all equipped with Lvl 4-6 runes. They don't stand a chance against us with our Lvl 7-10 runes and similarly ranked monsters on most bases!!! And then they probably go and complain about the terrible matchmaking - LOL.

    Team loyalty has almost disappeared
    We are a well organised team that provide speedcharts, good advice and a very friendly team environment. We never had issues keeping a full team until about the 4th or 5th race. Now it's almost impossible to recruit a new player who won't leave during the next race. During the last race we struggled to keep a team of 20!!! Just two months ago we took in 10 good players from another team that broke up. We were a force to be reckoned with. We won over 10 wars in a row, most over 400 coins, even took out a few much stronger teams and guess what? A team race came along and all except one left to chase the shiny monster....

    ....and since then I have been trying very hard to communicate these issues to @Fox and provided what could be a good solution to the issues the races are causing. And she said that SP are aware that there are problems and that they are considering my suggestions. But here we are now facing the worst race to date: 1st prize a rank 5 Igursus! How many teams will be able to resist this? Every player out there will be after that monster like a heroin addict after the next shot!!! This race will cause mayhem, I am sure of it. And once it is over, every team war with rules that involve Igursus will be won by the team that won the race. Maybe next time you should make a rank 5 Samuel as first prize πŸ˜„ You obviously don't care much about the one and only feature that makes Monster Legends such a good game - Team Wars 😞

    @Fox I really don't understand why you keep pushing this disaster without even attempting to fix the major issues everybody is complaining about:

    • Don't lock teams until the beginning of attack phase. We need to be able to swap players. It is the one aspect teams hate the most!

    • base matchmaking on MP or amount of eligible monsters per team. If you match teams against others with double or triple their MP, it's just 3 days of frustration!

    • reduce refresh cost - it's exorbitant and stands in no relation to the available rewards. And with the current matchmaking, nobody spends anything. The strong team doesn't have to and the weak team sees no point.

    • Integrate some sort of war/battle log. Leads need to be able to see what their players do. It's all shrouded in mystery and you can't judge at all what your players actually do

    If you keep pushing this event without the above changes, we will just keep ignoring it and continue to be annoyed. You claim that you are listening to our feedback - this is your chance to prove it πŸ˜‰

    @Fox as per title, this really shouldn't be happening. I had two eggs ready to hatch and was too busy at the time to clear space on my islands. Now I went back to hatch them and one is back on 20 hours and the other on 23 hours!!! This is really annoying and it's not the first time it happened. Fair enough if it goes back to the original timer BEFORE they are ready, but ready is ready and should not be reverted to timer! Can you please feed that back to your people. Thanks!

    I was wondering what some of my team mates were on about until I saw the new design on my kid's tablets - shocking! I had to double check each type of rune to figure out what they are. Team vs individual runes are incredibly hard to tell apart. The level symbols in the middle are tiny and barely readable @Fox please revise them. No idea what the mutants are going to be like, but if the normal ones are already undecipherable then I fear the worst with the mutants!!!

    So when we were told that there would be a Dungeon coming up where we can obtain an X rune, I got excited - however, now that we know that it costs 1000 robs to get there, I am very disappointed!

    1100 orbs on sale cost 420 gems. An X rune on sale costs 345 gems, so why would anyone go for this? Well, I guess if you already have all Warmasters at Lvl 130 you need something to spend you free orbs on which means that this Dungeon isn't for mere mortals but only for the elitist whales. Everyone else will continue to work on their WMs!!! Thanks SP πŸ˜‚

    I'm kind of glad that my kids have stopped playing ML, but when the cave first came out I had to explain the "all or nothing" gambling mechanic behind this feature to my kids and warned them to not waste their precious few gems on it. I find it disgusting that such mechanics are allowed in games played by children!!! 😠

    We are being killed by impossible matchmaking. It's getting to a point where we are all just about to quit. We are now searching for hours, just to get matched with yet another top/elite team. We are ranked #23 yet should barely be in the top 100 looking at all our stats. Here is our war log

    And guess who we matched after 3.5 hours of searching? The Rising Legends! Another team that will just walk all over us. It says a lot about our current team members that nobody has quit our team yet, but I won't begrudge anyone at this point if they decide to go.... 😞

    @Fox wtf is going on? This is the worst the game has ever been in the 3 years I have been playing!!!

    @c0ntr1v3d I was going to write something like that as my 6 year old daughter and my younger 9 year old son are still playing this game and I just caught them at wanting to pay gems to get further in the doors. I had to explain them why this isn't a good idea and refrain from spending. However, it is a bloody disgrace to put parents into such a position - ah what am I saying here - it is downright criminal and I think I might write a concerned letter to the ACCC and see what response I get. These practices in games that are played by minors have to be stopped!!!

    @Fox as per title, these 15 player tasks are really hard on teams that consist of players in many different time zones and working adults that can't be online all the time. We struggle just about every time and often get stuck at 12 or 13 for hours. I think you would find quite a few more teams going for 50 laps if this would be reduce to a more reasonable number!!!

    Ok, I just had a good look through the relics page of the wiki and I now know why some of the top legendary players are quitting the game....

    ....one big aspect of the game and what makes it so attractive to mature age players is the planning and strategy involved with team wars. Top teams put together speedcharts that include speed, level and other important aspects of the monsters of each base. Good players remember what immunities monsters have have and what possible skill sets you might encounter. It is already a challenge to remember all this with the rate of monsters pushed out into the game (and I sometimes get caught out like in a recent war: "Oh crap, Mountezuma has a cooldowns activated skill - oh no!!!"). The relics add a layer of complexity to the game that is a) impossible to remember and b) too much to legibly integrate in some form into spreadsheets - in short, it completely and utterly wrecks the strategy aspect of the game as you can't spend half an hour before each attack to look up all the different levels, types and form of relics and what they might do at what point in a battle- it's a complete and utter mess!!!

    I don't know whether @C0ntr1v3d is still here, but I bet that this is the No1 reason why he quit alongside with W@rlord and a number of other Monster Legends that I had the pleasure to fight during my time on ML.

    @Fox @Carlos I wouldn't be surprised if you see an excess of 50% of your top spenders/elite players quit the game in the next few weeks months. I think your praised relics will be the nail in the coffin of what used to be one of the best online games around!

    @Fox the base premise of this event is fantastic, the execution is as usual extremely poor:

    Matchmaking is even more important for this event than during wars. We felt sorry for the other team as they had no chance whatsoever and for us it was just a yawn fest. Most of us used a single monster to defeat enemy teams. The whole battleground was cleared in a few hours. I regretted using gems for moving runes for defence as it was completely unnecessary. For this event to be successful, matches have to be betweens teams of equal number of members and of very similar MP. The MP discrepancies I am reading in this thread MUST NOT happen for this event to be engaging. The gem cost is also absolutely surreal and needs to be adjusted.

    Bottom line, great potential but needs a lot of tweaks to make it successful!!!

    This has come up before in other threads, but has never been addressed directly:

    The rules for team wars involving very low level players (say majority < Lvl 30) should exclude rules that can only be filled with monsters obtained at higher levels. The most recent war with the rules Spirit, Good & Evil Legions made the war of my little kids team completely pointless. Out of the 30 bases, 7 had no monsters, 11 had one monster, another 11 had two monsters and only one base had a full set of three monsters. The other team looked the same. You can imagine the enthusiasm my kids had (and others on the team as many just left) when they saw this!

    This also occasionally happened during the old rules when we had L, Light & Metal for example. Lots of empty bases or with only one or two monsters. I can imagine that this has a big impact on new player recruitment for your game. Two or three wars like this and people probably won't bother anymore...

    ....so please implement a different set of rules for low level teams that exclude such rules as Metal or incomplete books or books with hard to get monsters. It'll be a lot more fun for lower level players to fight wars with full sets of three monsters, even if they are just Pandakens, Vapwhirls and the like!!!

    @Fox The core of the problem as many others have already pointed out, is that you can easily cheat yourself into getting the race monster by running a low level secondary team with a 'baby account'. Before I suggest any possible solutions, I will show you how prevalent this habit is by showing you a couple of race logs of a top 100 team:

    During this race, no team even tried to stick with their main team and all 20 teams went to their race teams!

    Now here, the team must have realised just in time that all other teams have gone to their race teams and just idled to get past the 14 laps.

    Keep in mind that these are race logs of a top 100 team!!! They recently annihilated us and we are currently ranked 38th which leads me to another problem that the race is causing - skewing the ranking in favour of the cheaters as they obviously don't win wars with their main team while racing elsewhere.

    We had a long-term player jump during the current race and he messaged us how stress free it is in a race team, you just idle to lap 14 without any competition and pocket the race monster. So I replied that he must feel a great sense of achievement and why he isn't looking up the monster hack where he can replace skills with zero stamina special moves. He'll then win every battle, stress free! Oh hang on a second, that behaviour gets you banned right?

    Now to a possible solution:

    The problem is that the race laps are way too hard for low level teams. How can craft runes if your rune temple is still locked. How can you even attempt breeding multiple epics if your breeding guardian isn't built or has no stars?

    I propose a league system for the race. Low level teams will only get a Lvl 100 race monster as first prize, but completing nodes will a lot easier. Base leagues on total MP of team. Gradually increase rewards and difficulty until you get the Lvl 115 monster in the top league.

    This should solve most if not all the problems as there is no point jumping into your race team if you only get a Lvl 100 race monster out of it!

    I sincerely hope that you will give this suggestion some serious consideration!

    I have just stopped participating in these events. If I have space in my hatchery, I might run a few breeds. This may have added up to maybe 20-30 attempts scattered over more than half a dozen events - I did not get one single target legendary. I once bred a Violet and that's it. If I would have had that many attempts in a single event, it would have cost me hundreds. By doing it they way I do it now, it cost me nothing, SP gained nothing and I had 100 Violet cells to share with my team....

    ....I am sure SP is gathering stats on how much people spend on these events. The fact that they haven't change them, tells me that there are far too many gullible idiots out there wasting their gems. I am sure if everyone would treat them like me, it'll be back to what they once were a long time ago!!!

    Me and our lead group have decided to just ignore the relics and not spend a further cent on the game. The relics are illogical, game breaking and must either be removed completely or radically reworked so they don't break the strategy aspect of the game and are more universally accessible. If this doesn't happen and team wars become a team gamble, it will be game over for me....

    ....and dare I say R.I.P. ML 😞

    PS: In the meantime, we will keep warring to enjoy the last bit of the game while it lasts!

    @Fox as mentioned by others, the qualifying threshold is way to high. Even with max effort we may not quite make it. Also, it's hard to keep track of what you have left for attack. An unassigned monster tab would be nice so you can see all you have left for the attack phase!!!

    I was going to add my 4c to this as well and then scrolled past @C0ntr1v3d and read what he had to say. What a pity that you can only up vote once!

    I'll will just add one small aspect that I agree with here, it should be possible to get a rank 0 legendary for free like in all other events if enough effort is put in. Maybe make it an older monster and not the race monster. Make 4 laps the minimum requirement and don't add any single player epic tasks until after lap 4. Maybe just have a joint one or two as this is certainly achievable with team work. As it is atm, to get at least something, as a minimum, one or two players have to spend a significant amount of gems just to make the team eligible! And this I believe causes much of the resentment....

    I saw a few comments about how everyone hates the new format...

    .... well, I can only say that it is a hell of a lot better than the old one! Race jumping has been reduced to a negligible level, everybody can get the Monster where they are and the benefits of jumping have evaporated. I still don't like races very much for other reasons but the new race at least doesn't hurt team dynamics anymore or at least not significantly!!!

    I was just going to post this in the feedback thread just to find it closed. And since everybody has always been talking about 'The Big Nerf' but completely overlooked and ignored the 'The Big Boost', I decided to make a new thread:

    The awakening of Mount Doom: Mountain the new trait to be feared!!!

    So Mountain is now also resisting the Mega versions of stun/freeze and possession will get a 'recently possessed', so all you can do is possess for one, or if you are lucky and have the right monster, for two turns. Then you just have to wear whatever comes: Global Stomp - arrgh! Oh and of course, Ouros and Igursus have these wonderful self buffs which they like to do when possessed. I'm looking forward to Igursus doing Vesuvius when possessed to then acquire recently possessed and ouch....

    ....I'd be ok with this if there wouldn't be two and a half million Lvl 130 Igursuses out there who now get the Mega-buff and will cause mayhem. They were bad enough as they were, but now? So much for balancing the game. A smart move would actually be to change the trait of Igursus to something else. Now that would indeed help to balance. And before players hack me to bits for suggesting such an outrage, I levelled my Igursus the hard way with LOTS of gems. I didn't get mine for next to nothing like everybody else and I would definitely be ok with this for the sake of more balanced wars!!!

    @thewire you tend to match players about 100-300 trophies above you. When the cut off to L3 was around the 4.3-4.6k trophie mark, it meant that at the top end of Gold 1 you were matching only L4s. Now you get L3s as the threshold has dropped significantly, yet the matchmaking algorithm is still the same. When I ended up in L3, I only got L2s and even the odd L1 to choose from!!!

    SP really needs to undo whatever they did. It hurts a lot of players and only causes more frustration!!!

    ....the biggest gripe I have with SP is their rock bottom low, Guinness Book of Records worthy, absolutely worst customer support I have EVER experience in my life!!! I can see how this turns off players and I know of a few that have stopped playing because of this!

    The game itself has still plenty to offer despite various issues and probably won't go down in a hurry....

    And as John above has said, no more good epic cells in survival dungeon. You can try and sweet talk things, but the reality is that you are constantly giving less and less whilst charging more and more!!!

    I think if it weren't for the attraction of team wars, the game would have died a long time ago. There is very little else in the game that can hold players onto it long-term. I think most collectors would have given up by now and doing mazes, progressives, team races over and over again? The only reason players do that is to get stronger for wars and most of it is mindless grinding. It's a pity, the game has so much unused potential.....

This means that this change is another one that makes life easier for top spending teams as they can now use the elementium to rank $$$ monsters like the VIPs and Nemesis whilst the rest will now end up with even fewer war coins and an even harder upgrade path for team war monsters....

    ....as I said before, the team shop price change should have come a year ago with the introduction of the Frat Events - not now. It's the one and only change of all the recent changes that I have a real problem with!!!

    One of the most frustrating aspects of running a team is the large number of team hoppers. A problem that has been intensified by the races. People often say that there should be a punishment for team hoppers, but I reckon a reward for loyalty would work much better and it would not wrongfully punish players that leave their team for a good reason!

    There was a post about this on FB a while ago with an excellent idea: after a player has participated in a set number of wars, say 50 or so, their status is elevated from 'Soldier' to 'Knight' and receives a 5% bonus on all war coins earned. And maybe there could even be a second tier with a 10% bonus that is also tied to a minimum contribution rate of say >90%.

    It would also help to somewhat alleviate the issue of the increased prices in the team shop now that we don't get coins through Fraternity Events anymore.

    In my suggestion above, I have been conservative with the bonus. However, considering the recent 50-100% price increase in the shop, a 10% and 20% bonus would be quite appropriate.

    Edit: something just occurred to me. Should this feature ever be implemented, it should be set up so that players can take a break (ie. leave the team) without losing their status or have their war count reset. People have lives outside of ML and take short breaks for personal reasons. As long as they don't join a different team and go straight back to 'their' team the war count/status should be maintained!

    @Haka-Taka That is indeed the idea. What attraction has a dummy team to a top or mid-level team if it is grouped in a league that only offers a Lvl 100 race monster as 1st price?

    Let's say that the top league starts at 500k MP. How can you run and maintain a dummy team at that level? And if you somehow manage that, it would be pitched against similar strength teams. So there wouldn't be any incentive or viable option to run a race team anymore and everybody would stay in their 'league'....!!!

    I have to say that @C0ntr1v3d pretty much nailed it in his post above. And aside from making progress somewhat more achievable for the masses, there are really only three things that I wish they would change/fix:

    • Fix the team races, so that teams can't cheat the system with 'race teams'

    • Make PvP playable for everybody at all levels

    • And nerf Samuel. This Nemesis is just killing everything where he appears.

    The side effect of recent changes which makes so many players quit is that we are starting to have a much higher turnover in our team and recruiting in general is becoming more painful. So I wish they would start to please the masses again to stop this ongoing exodus!!!

    Yes, I am beginning to wonder whether the new PvP is designed to keep the top at the top and the rest somewhere far below. I am regularly attacked by Legendary III and II players, I even once was attacked by the number one legendary leader whilst I was in Gold I. At the same time, as posted in the other thread, I only get opponents to chose from that are two or three leagues above me. So how is it that those at the top get the option to attack below, but us below can only attack those at the top??? This is just so wrong!!!

    @Armistice Thanks for the response, but from what I can tell, "da rules" are interpreted VERY inconsistently. I am aware of what Keith has posted in the past and whilst he is extremely cynical and blunt, SP definitely hasn't provided much to turn this around. The new PvP has been a dog's breakfast from day one without end in sight and the are numerous other issues that make ML a very sad state of affairs these days!

    So as posted above, if stating the blunt truth gets you banned in this forum, you might as well ban 3/4 of the users!

    The random gamble style of acquiring relics!

    If I could buy all types of relics for a set price whatever that may be, I could save my pennies for particular relics that I like. However, spending 100s of gems on a chest in hope that I might find something useful in it is not what I do!

    I agree with you that relics have potential to add to the game and I like a challenge and I am not against change (otherwise complacency and boredom sets in), but atm relics do wreck certain aspects of the game. Aspects that are critical to my enjoyment of the game!

    @Sharon-Hancock It happens at all levels. We are in the top 50 and so far had matches against all elite teams like PoF, AMAB, etc. except RV. Although I am sure that we'll get them sooner or later πŸ˜„

    Definitely not much fun if you are fighting Lvl 130 Nemesis or VIPs all equipped with X runes!

    On a few occasions we have reached out to those teams and we had some fun chatting whilst facing our doom. You just have to make the best of it. I am sure that like us, you are also regularly on the high side squashing your opponent. It goes both ways, however, close wars are definitely a lot more fun!!!

    @Fox why on earth did you implement locking teams? This will cause so much frustration! Nobody in their right mind will accept a random player applying to the team now in fear they will suck and leech and they can't get rid of that player!!! And what about open teams? They rely on the fact that they can kick players straight away if they are no good. Being an open team will be suicide during this event!!!!!!!!

    Saying that I am disappointed is a BIG understatement 😞

    Yes, 105 is the change point. My son's account just went from 104 to 105 and he now needs also 160M, up from 140M. Fortunately not a problem, he gets around 190M atm....

    ....I think the next jump goes straight from 160M to 200M, or maybe there was 180M but I can;t remember πŸ˜„

    @Fox everytime we have a Maze, there are crashes during the final discount. Obviously, this is because you often make the last discount hour the best and everybody holds onto their coins until then if they can afford it. You know it and yet it happens every time! This time was the worst. Couldn't get in at all for over half an hour. Then we had to have dinner and I had one final try a few minutes before the end. After an eternity of loading time, I finally got in with 3 minutes to spare. No time to collect the final lot of coins from the island, no time for roulette wheels and had to gem battles to miss out by two nodes. Whether the coins from the island would have been enough for Metalhead, who knows but I definitely would have gotten the gold relic chest. Of course, no time extension, no compensation for lost effort. Didn't get anything with my second account at all! Please Fox, tell your people to get onto this problem. And for gods sake, if you have server crashes almost to the very end of an event, have the heart and extend it by another hour or so, even if you give that hour without discount!!! It's called good customer service πŸ˜‰

    From what I can tell, between my team and what is posted on the Discord and FB, I would say thousands of your customers missed out on Maze rewards. How about some compensation for lost effort as I have already mentioned above???

    @SamIAm totally agree!!! A great example is C0ntr1v3d's defence with 5 pestilence traps (plus another one on my team makes 6). You easily wait a minute or more before the battle even begins. Then for each turn of my monster, I have to go through this again. It is highly annoying!!!

    @cmleow we also don't have and use race teams because we believe it is wrong for all the reasons Ekto has listed. We have suffered as a consequence, but ultimately have always risen from the ashes again. I believe in doing what is right and playing games the way they are meant to be played. Ultimately, it is up to the individual and their respective conscience to decide what to do....

    Worth it? Hell yeah!!!

    Second Account
    17 silver relics
    1 gold delayer trap
    Worth it? Hell no!!!

    Thanks Carlos, that makes more sense. Can we please get this updated in the announcement as it currently reads:

    Unify MEGA - control skills and protections:

    • Immunity to Stun (Status and Trait) will block Stun and Mega Stun.
    • Immunity to Freeze (Status and Trait) will block Freeze and Mega Freeze.
    • Immunity to Possession (Status and Trait) will block Regular Possessions / Won’t block Exclusive Possessions (= Rebooted, Subscribed, Corrupted, Hacked).
    • Mountain (Trait) will block Stun, Mega Stun, Freeze and Mega Freeze.

    I also think that the whole change would have been smarter by leaving the traits for stun and freeze alone. It suffices to allow skills that give immunity status to stun/freeze to also block the Mega versions plus the introduction of recently frozen + possessed to balance the deny meta. I think you will now get a lot of refund requests for Gortak and Thalassa as they are definitely not worth their money anymore with this new change!
