Agreed, the monthly races are not fun. It was MUCH better bi-monthly, than what it is now. @Boro-Wing and from what I've seen, the majority of teams I know do not like monthly races.

@Johnny Ah, I can see how that could be a problem if the competition doesn't let up or you have people that refuse to cooperate.

On my team, we ask the players who reach 5k points to sit back and focus on the tasks that require 15 people to complete or are difficult (breeding epics)...and help the new racers with advice on how to complete the easier tasks.

There is usually a bit of a race to get 5k points where slower or more casual players miss out; however, the front-runners usually have 5k by the second day. I haven't had trouble with players that want to get a bunch of points getting them by end of race. Usually, the hardest thing is keeping everyone motivated and checking in for those team tasks often enough.

This stratagy works well, especially if you have an exterior form of communication to notify when the hard tasks come up. As a lead, ever since I adopted this stratagy, I have had greater team co-operation and races haven't only been on me to get 30k+ points for the team because no one did anything.

    1. Half-Forgotten Legion
    2. Lost Masters
    3. Reviving Achons
Team names I like: Power of Fun, and some others that the names elude me of at the moment.
      Lastly, some lead tips.
Don't accept hoppers Of ANY KIND.
Set up some rules BEFORE you accept anyone.
And show them how to act in the team by your example, you are the lead... so lead them.

@Johnny said in Team race feedback:

Having read through all the posts in this thread, I think I can see a pattern: we've been focusing on the symptoms, and not the disease. Taking bits from multiple suggestions, and adding some of my own, I think this might actually help fix the entire issue of race problems.

    1. Increase requirements to qualify for a race. A team having to compete in 14 wars is a reasonable requirement, and allows those final two days for prep time before a race (i.e. saving aside food and gems, prepping monsters to be upgraded, etc.).
    2. Make rewards commensurate with individual participation. Have a minimum number of points required in order to qualify for the team reward.
    3. Get rid of the individual rewards leader board. Promoting competition within a team while they're trying to compete against other teams is a bad idea, as the higher-level players and the ones with money to spend will usually cause lower-level players to miss out on the little quests that could help them qualify for individual rewards. (I've seen that happen in three teams, so far.)
    4. Allow kicking during a race, but only allow recruiting from a pool of players who meet a certain standard, such as those who have earned points in the race, already. Players who have earned no race points could not be recruited into a team currently involved in a race. This will stop the lazy people from earning anything for a race.
    5. Earned race points go along with the player who earned them, but only if they are booted. Kicking someone after they spent their gems or did a few tough quests will come with a penalty; losing all that player's earned points when they are kicked. If, however, a player decides to quit their team, their points remain with that team.
    6. Change the way teams are gathered in racing groups. Use team Monster Power to determine which teams should race against each other, keeping the numbers fairly close.
    7. Change the rewards. Grant 1st place the three-star unique monster, 2nd place a 1-star version, and 3rd place a standard version. Below that, grant 4th place a one-star related monster, 5th place a standard version of the same, and so on.

Let me know how this sounds.

I think all of these are great ideas, but I have some alterations that I'd like to add to point 3.
First, make it so the leads and co-leads are the only ones that can see the leaderboard's player's names while the soldiers cannot. Because I use it (and maybe others do too) to manage the activity of players in a team.
Second, maybe add point thresholds for when individual players reach certain amounts of points? Because it may inspire more activity for the players.

@Fox What do you say to @Johnny and my suggestions?

@ArmorGaming said in The last Nemesis Talos brothers event! - DISCUSSION:

I'll start buy saying the only VIP monster I purchased was Scarr the Outcast when he we originally released. Back in the end of February of 2016. This back when they only released a certain amount of units... everyone remember that?
    0_1516647592230_Scarr 402.jpg

Good thing they took off that limited number of units, otherwise there would be no ranked 130s until the release of elementium.

But anyhow, back to this topic. I personally think it's a great idea to give all players a chance to get at least 1 nemesis monster without having to purchase it, and to allow everyone to get monsters that are now.. 1 - 2 years old.
Just about anytime or place in life, when you want to be the very first to acquire something, you'll have to pay a premium. And by being the first you reap the benefits, the advantages. In ML, if you purchased a VIP early on, then you had some of the most powerful monsters both for offense and defense. You certainly got your $20 worth. Fast-forward 1 or 2 years the VIPs are no where near as powerful as what they once were. Look at PvP defense... do you see VIPs or Nemesis. Heck, even some of the "regular" monsters are arguably more powerful - Kihaku, Dungeon Master, Al Canine.
So with those two things in mind 1) players that originally purchased VIPs already had time to use them and 2) they aren't as VIP as what they were when initially released, I don't see much of a problem of having them breedable.

I do understand the premise of the whole "it's unfair that I paid X, while you get it for free" argument, but again with times things depreciate in value. I think it's unrealistic to ask new players to pay $20 for a VIP just because you paid $20 TWO years ago. Especially when that same amount could be used on something better now.
    If anyone disagrees, please feel free to contact me, I will gladly sell you my 5 year-old phone for the exact same price I purchased it for (;

On a more important note, does the fact that some players (non-spenders and casual spenders) will now have a chance to breed VIPs really have a huge impact on you. Not really...
Again, you purchased VIPs when they were first released. Elementium has been released with several frat events. By now you probably have a ranked up VIP. You probably have really good runes. Or assuming you're still spending, you probably have the new all-to-powerful nemesis monsters.
Some non-spenders or causal spenders walking around with VIPs doesn't really have a huge impact on you.

So why not just give everyone a chance to experience the fun and pleasure of getting a VIP monster?

It's a good attempt to close the major gap that exists in the game.

The only thing I'm a bit perplexed about is selling all 9 VIPs for $99.99 AND THEN having this breeding event.
I mean on one hand you get certainty, whereas with the breeding event you gamble gems with the possibility of nothing but epics.

I agree with this, but I only have one comment, what everyone is not understanding is any exclusive purchase in a game is an investment, like stock. So if it goes down in value after you 'invest', that's your fault, so don't ask for a refund because YOU chose to use YOUR money.

First, VoltaiK did 50,000 Volts to Atum, with damage return 100%, double life and damage boost, the skill only did roughly 13K points of damage to Atum, but roughly 35K points of damage was returned (or roughly 250% of the damage of VoltaiK's skill). Second, Theyts' Pet killed Atum as the last enemy monster, but still the damage was returned and killed Theyts' Pet.

Yeah, there's too many races, when it was one every 2 months or so, I could rebuild my gem pile and replace those I lost. And in the races I'd earn upwards of 40K points, now I settle for 5-10K because I don't want to get too far ahead of everyone (and my gems are used on other events which are 'conveniently' placed at the same time), since I want them to get rewards from it, and my numbers have been diminishing because everyone is getting burnt out.

This has been the turn order for EVERY battle with these three monsters: Theyts' Pet, Reptie, Ixofex, Reptie, Taiga, Ixofex, Taiga, Theyts' Pet, Ixofex, and repeat.

In the discussion about the Ingenica event, @Fox had said that Ingenica would be exclusive to this event here (at the 71st post), three months later we have had TWO times to get this 'event exclusive' monster, one in the artifact chest (I heard of people that got her), and two, in the new daily goals as the full completion reward (granted, only onee cell).
And I know one of you reading this will bring up, the VIP breeding event, I believe that is different. Because VIP have been around for 2 years now, they have been devalued by newer and better monsters (for most), and I believe that is a perfectly just reason.
As for Ingenica, she's only three months old one eighth of that time, and she's already had two times where they had her possible to get outside of her event. And she's STILL the best for trait denial (AOE or single) outside of abilities.
