    Money talks

The only way they will slow down the races is if people stop spending money on them.

They will probably get rid of races completely if most people rebel.

The sad thing is that the developers are chasing short-term profits only. The races get people to spend lots of money in the short term, but they tend to cause burn-out in a lot of players long term. So you have lots of money being spent while lots of people will quit the game after so many races that are so close together.

I've seen this same phenomenon in other games where they increase the number of events exactly like these extremely intense and stressful races. Unfortunately, in the past when I've seen it, it's usually a sign that the game is on the decline and the developers are desperately trying to keep the game relevant by boosting short term profits.

I guess everyone (but me) loves the chests since they are spreading. I'm not a gambler, so I won't purchase chests. I only spend gems when I know for sure what I am getting.

You now can't buy eggs but cells are cheaper than they used to be. So your first monster will be more expensive (gems for rune slots) but leveling up will be cheaper. I used to purchase eggs always instead of cells. Eggs were cheaper per monster and I didn't mind hatching, leveling, and extracting. Now I can bypass all of that and just purchase cells at the same price as the old egg price.

So for me, the changes are good and bad--as I expected.

I've been playing for only two months and many others on my team are similar.

One thing no one has mentioned is that wars this restrictive hit the newbies the hardest. Given the current 3 book restriction, most of our team will have to use less than three monsters. Several have ZERO monsters that qualify for any of these books.

How do you make a newbie quit? Don't allow them to field any monsters in a war. Not a lot of fun.

How about if you are going to use the highly restrictive books, mix them up with easier to obtain combinations.

How about Rare, Nature, Good Legions or Epic, Magic, Evil Legions. This way we newbies can at least have some monsters to fight with.

I have to laugh at how much people spend on the team races. People don't seem to have any sense of perspective when it comes to spending and value. They are spending way more than the value of the prizes at the end should dictate as compared to simply spending gems on a legendary (or other things) when you see it on sale.

People are much more likely to overspend when they feel like they have WON something. It gives us a rush! You might win the race, but the race is nothing more than a contest of who is willing to give up the most gems! Obviously, nobody gets past the "Hatch 6 epics" nodes without spending gems.

But, yeah, the races are a HUGE money maker for SP because people overvalue them. So don't expect them to go away any time soon.

And this is just a game! I've been playing this game for almost a year now and I've missed all kinds of game events/things/opportunities in that time due to more important things going on like a wedding or a funeral or a vacation or spending time face to face with real people.

    Look at it this way...

Ten years from now you won't give a rat's behind if you missed a breeding event in ML ten years before. It will make absolutely zero difference in your life. However, missing other things might.

    A different perspective here.

By making this Titan MUCH tougher than the last titan event, I find this event less boring and more compatible with my lifestyle. The last titan event, I could make each battle last the full 10 minutes and then lost simply because I ran out of time. It got boring just hammering on the titan for 10 minutes, then adding 3 new monsters and hammering away for another 10 minutes. I hacked on the Titan for hours. (Yawn)

With this event my monsters are usually dead within 2 minutes for every battle. This way I quickly rotate through all my monsters when attacking the titan. I've run through all my monsters in a short amount of time.

I work for a living. I simply don't have time to sit there for hours pounding away on the titans. I'm happy that the battles are over much more quickly.

Using Kihaku and Captain Copperbeard today, Kihaku possessed all three, so then Captain Copperbeard used his AOE stun on them while they were possessed. Yeah, that makes sense.

Every time SP changes the AI some things get better and other things get worse. It's endless.

I really wish they would either make it totally random again or let the players have more control over this.

Maybe let us prioritize skills for each monster.

Rank them 1-4 with 1 being the highest priority but still a chance to use the other skills. This way it's still somewhat random but most of us have a skill we like to use first almost every time and it would get used the most.

This way it forces us to utilize some strategy rather than relying on SP to get this right.

I can't figure out the point of the warm up of best moves? In my last battle, a couple of my monsters had only one attack choice for the first turn--their weakest attack. I had no idea which monsters were going to be nerfed for the early turns until I tried them out. Some monsters lose more attacks than others. Again, why?

I see real time friendly battles as a way to test monsters for other aspects of the game like PVP or the dungeons. But with the warming-up-of-best-moves feature, it's now worthless for testing because you can't compare apples to apples.

Statistically speaking you should on average get one Laomu in 20 attempts.

But statistics does not remember previous results. If you had 18 failed breedings then statistics still says that on average you should get one Laomu in your next 20 attempts.

People should also remember this when throwing away thousands of gems in breeding events. Just because you failed 40 attempts does not mean you have a higher chance at success with your next 40 attempts.

This type of incorrect thinking about statistics is what keeps Las Vegas in business! People think they are "due" for a win because they've had so many losses in a row.

I finally got my first Goldfield (10% chance) after 57 attempts. One might think that the 10% is incorrect after this. However, a few breedings later I got Goldfield three times in a row! Go figure.

In the last game that I played before getting into ML, several of us players were able to figure out approximately how much the TOP player in the game had spent since he started playing the game.

Over the course of 9 years, the top player had spent somewhere between $150,000 and $200,000 just on that one game.

He could have purchased a small house in many parts of the country for that much money! It's complete insanity but people lose control when it's an addiction--and for many people, video games are an addiction. But there are worse addictions than games--like drugs and alcohol. At least clicky games are relatively harmless.

I think it's been a few weeks now since the "new and improved" AI for wars, dungeons, and PVP was implemented.

Since that time, I've observed a few things.

    1. Any sense of randomness is gone. It likes to pick certain attacks over and over again. These choices are usually not a good choice based on the situation.

    2. The AI prefers a defensive stance rather than an offensive one. For example, when I use my Arch Knight in dungeons with auto battle on, it keeps using Protection Aura over and over again rather than choosing one of the other three attacks, which are all heavy damage attacks. With Kihaku, it wants to use Kiai (regeneration to all allies) rather than one of the other three choices, all possession/freeze attacks. In my experience, a defensive stance in this game is a good way to get yourself killed most of the time. Now maybe this is intentional. Maybe SP wants to give more of an advantage to the attackers in wars and this is certainly one way to do it. I have, however, found it tougher to Autobattle in dungeons now as well as a result of this.

    3. For monsters that have no defensive ability, the AI does always start the battle with the same attack. It's not usually my first choice either, but the AI is fairly consistent. In fact, it's way too consistent for me to believe there is any amount of randomness left. After lots of observation, I'm unsure how the AI chooses it's first attack when there isn't a defensive option.

    4. Lets say you are working your way through a dungeon and you switch out one of the three monsters. This can totally change the attack choices of the other two monsters. Again, it's not always a logical choice of attacks but it does change and will be consistent again.

My observations are, of course, based on dungeon adventures, since it's more difficult to observe trends with PVP or wars.

It's like the entire system is trying to be intelligent but is failing more miserably than if it were simply entirely random.

    What have others observed?

The two top teams we are up against in this race are battling it out right now with over 50 laps. No 3 star monster is worth the kind of money you have to spend to get 50 laps. And one of those two teams with over 50 laps will end up with just a one star monster.

I've noticed the same thing with 50% chance abilities but I think it only SEEMS like it is low because of a couple of factors.

    1. Usually out of three monsters you are attacking, at least one of them is immune to stun anyway. This gives you a 50% chance of stunning each of the remaining two monsters--giving you a good chance of stunning only one of the three.

    2. AOE attacks only give a 90% chance of hitting each of the three monsters. So in approximately one out of three of these AOE attacks, you miss one of the three monsters completely, thus you have zero chance of stunning that monster as well.

Given these two factors, stunning one out of the three with each attack is about average with 0 out of three being slightly more common than 2 out of 3.

3 for 3 is hard to get.

For the last couple of months our team has done poorly in wars. We've been losing 3 out of 4. Despite the losses in war, we are now ranked higher today than we were two months ago.

Ranked about 280 now. Ranked about 380 two months ago.

I am trying to figure out an explanation for this? I notice that immediately after a loss we lose a few places in rank. Then, between wars, we slowly creep back up to higher than we were before in ranking.

The way I see it, if we just keep losing 3 out of 4, we'll be in the top 10 teams within a year!

Our losses aren't because we aren't trying. We have good participation. We just keep getting matched up with team after team that is simply more powerful than us. I guess our bad matchups aren't surprising since we keep moving up in the ranks while our losses are piling up one after another.

So what am I missing here? Is there a "trick" to getting better matchups? Honestly, I don't even care about the ranking anymore. I just want to stop getting pounded in wars time and time again. Logically, it would seem that if we kept losing wars, we would drop in the ranking and then our matchups would get easier, no?

This event was a breath of fresh air, it was different, it required strategy and team work. The problem was it was unrewarding compared to the effort that had to be put in , but more or less it was acceptable.
Getting a diamond relic for the highest ranking was very motivating for those of us who don't spend crazy amounts gambling on relic chests.
But now we are getting 1500 medal currency while a diamond relic chest costs 5000 in team shop.
So we went from a diamond relic chest to less than 1/3 of its cost and also gone are the talany cells, while also making the event harder by not allowing using attack monsters except once.

again why are we going backwards??

I was very happy with this event. You really can't compare rewards from a free event to the event which used to cost lots of gems. Of course the rewards went down when it became free.

I really didn't spend much time on this event. I didn't spend any time analyzing every team in every battleground. I just plopped a denier, attacker, and someone else together over and over again. It didn't take long.

It was fun attacking with monsters and combinations that I never use in wars because they aren't my "elite" monsters.

I would not favor making it free to remove runes.

Being part of a mid-level team, we encounter teams with a mixture of high and low runes. This makes the game interesting.

If it were suddenly free to remove runes, everyone would purchase 9 level 10 runes and then just keep moving them monster to monster with each new war. I think it would be boring if everyone suddenly had all level 10 runes all the time. And, yes, I know the top teams have all level 10 runes but that is actually a tiny percentage of the player base.

I don't think SP would make them free anyway since they would lose a lot of $$$ after everyone purchased the first 9 level 10 runes.

My question is...when is the rune removal discount coming back? We used to get a discount occasionally for a couple of days for rune removal. It's been a long time since we've had that. Is it coming back?

I liked it until I started using it. Apparently you get charged to use this feature? I did a "open all" to 19 chests. I only got 17 relics. The other two just disappeared.

The same thing happened when I opened 5 chests containing runes from the rune dungeon. I selected "open all" and only got 4 runes when opening 5 chests.

And, yes, I am taking into account that you open one chest first. Then you select the "open all" button to open remaining chests.

So is this intended or a glitch? Are we getting "charged" so to speak by losing a few chests when we get lazy and use the "open all" button?

But if you get 2 widows armour they dont appear separately they appear as 2 widows armour. Same with runes. Lvl 3 strength x1/ level 3 strength x2. Gives the appearance of less but actually getting the right amount

I guess this is possible but I was also manually counting each one of the relics as each chest was opening. I didn't just count the relics at the end of the chest openings. If you have duplicate relics, does the game also just put two relics together into one chest opening?
