Every time I search for the cost of orbs for warmasters, this useless thread comes up, and it is neigh impossible to find a post with the actual information. So this is purely for my own sake, so that I can find it the next time (cut and pasted from another post on this forum):

    1st Dungeon: 800 orbs, 20 nodes, 40 cells
    2nd dungeon: 1500 orbs, 25 nodes, 60 cells
    3rd dungeon: 2400 orbs, 30 nodes, 120 cells
    4th dungeon: 3500 orbs, 35 nodes, 150 cells
    5th dungeons: 4800 orbs, 40 nodes, 290 cells
    6th dungeons: 6300 orbs, 45 nodes, 1110 cells
-> level 130, you will need 19300 orbs

PS This has not been a problem for years. The formula used to be, quite simply, when a monster was resurrected the turn order was recalculated as if the battle just started, taking into account only the monsters on the table (including the resurrected one), then skipping the first. A mechanic I frequently used tactically in wars.

Perhaps not for resurrections (never had Uriel), but what you describe is essentially the same issue as pointed out for the haste/slow mechanism, which is at least two years old.

For the other end of the spectrum:

Just fought a war battle. Enemy Necromancer resurrected enemy Thetys, which then got 5 turns in a row. Thetys was killed early on, and resurrected a few turns later. I suspect she got all the turns she would have had (if she had been alive) in one go. @Carlos

Ha-ha. This has been pointed out to SP for years...

What is worse, ignorance or arrogance... who knows? Who cares?

Have your last two posts in this thread been serious? They seem... rather detached from the realities of this game.

@David-ML said in Please explain ranking system:

@Slamansen I am aware that there will be discrepancies, but it is impossible to have such a huge discrepancy without another variable influencing the overall ranking.

Whatever. Your example does not even strike me as unlikely.

@David-ML said in Please explain ranking system:

So we are now correctly ranked #95 for war coins and we are ranked #48 for MP and #63 for Unique Monsters. So how is it possible that we still have the ridiculously high total ranking of #24? We should be correctly ranked somewhere around #60-70. Can you please explain what variable is pushing up our ranking. That would be much appreciated!

Well, as mentioned above, it is a version of Simpson's paradox. To make it easier to follow: assume that you were ranked #2 in war coins, MP, and unique, and ranked #1 overall. How could that be? Simply because the team ranked #1 in war coins could be ranked #100 in MP, the team ranked #1 in MP could be ranked #100 in war coins, and the team ranked #1 in unique could be ranked #99 in MP. Who should be ranked #1 overall? Obviously, the team that is ranked #2 in all the categories should be.

Why does this happen in ML? Well, because many teams with high MP have low war coins or low unique, while the teams with high unique may have low war coins, and the teams with high war coins may have low unique and MP. This of course is amplified by team race jumping and similar behavior.

Basically, there is nothing strange at all with having a very different total ranking than the average of individual factor rankings.
